Un Poco del Choco is an excellent reserve most famous for its hand-fed Banded Ground-cuckoo. But this site is worth visiting whether the Ground-cuckoo is being seen or not. Other cool birds include Wattled Guan, Great Tinamou, Barred Puffbird and Pacific Tuftedcheek, and it's just a lovely place to experience the rainforest. By visiting you're supporting a worthy conservation and education organization. The accomodations are rustic and comfortable, and the owners, Nicole and Wilo, are knowledgable and fun to talk to (also great cooks)! I've been here twice, once doing research and once as a tourist, and can't wait to visit again.
