Clean, with comfortable beds, decent size rooms. Location is quite noisy at night, and the decor is dated. Overpriced for what you get. The spa pools were not clean, and they were not hot. The sauna was also not hot.

Loved the place, definitely coming back here the next time we go to Baños, hotel is right in front of the waterfall. Walking distance to the town 5 mins or less, also the restaurant has live music and the dessert called Pasion de Fuego was AWESOME. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 2 nights in one of their bungalows. Firstly, this place is advertised as a "luxury" hotel, but in my experience it was not. At least, the bungalows were not. The room was very bare-bones, but functional. The worst part about the room was the extremely thin walls! Literally, I could everything both of my shared walls neighbors were doing (I could hear them peeing!!)! And, they were not quiet to begin with often blaring TV/Music until 2am. And speaking of, I was there over the weekend (Saturday through Monday) and each night there was a very loud discotek nearby that had my room rattling from 9pm until 2am. My earplugs helped a little bit, but I did not get very sound sleep here.

The location is just across the street (as in less than 2mins walk) from the waterfall and hot springs. It is about a 15min walk from the bus station through the town.

The included breakfast buffet was very nice and filling and a had a nice selection of fruits, cereals, coffee, and eggs. It was a bit confusing, however, when they had several guys coming around asking for the card for your breakfast that the front desk gives you at check-in. On the first day, one guy came around and asked for it, but I told him, it was good for two days and I had another left, so he told me to keep the card. Then 5mins later, a different guy came over asking for the card. I told him I had already been checked by the other guy and he demanded my card and stated that there was a "list" I would be marked off of for the rest of my stay. I ended up asking for his name and taking his pic because at this point I did not trust their "system". So definitely recommend an improvement in how they verify their included breakfast buffet because that was a more stressful situation than it had to be.

Honestly, for the price, I would have stayed at a different hotel and walked the distance to the waterfall/hot springs. The location and breakfast did not make up for the noise of the rooms and there was nothing luxury about the hotel.

The highlight, however, was the front desk staff! From check-in to check-out they were fantastic! Very helpful and accommodating, especially the gal from Spain (whose name I cannot remember) who answered so many of my questions and if she did not know, she found the answer.

We stay with over 9 friends and was awesome time the rooms are quite comfy and the views from every angle from the propertie was perfect I will came back for sure with more friends and family to Sangay and the price wasn't that bad either.

Full service spa and hotel with restaurant right across from Manto de la Virgen. It can get noisy because of the great location, but worth it to be in the middle of all the action! There are 3 different types of rooms:
Plaza (newest rooms, highest price, facing the new public baths or the waterfall, Manto de la Virgen); Garden Rooms (average priced rooms, lower floors, facing the court-yard), and the Budget Rooms (original part of the hotel, very old, but charming). We stayed in the newest plaza room on the top floor facing the new baths. Our room had 2 balconies and we could see and hear the waterfall.

We found that leaving the balcony doors open while in the room kept the room fresh, but this is a very busy tourist area so it is noisy, even with the doors closed. In Early August 2016, the construction noise outside was significant, but it did not deter us since we were so tired from our daily excursions. Also, there are vendors right outside the hotel since it faces the waterfall. It will be noisy at this hotel, but you are in the middle of town so it's a great place to walk from.

The best reason to stay here is they have a full-service spa on location with thermal baths, a sauna, a racquetball court, a swimming pool and a play area for the kids as well as a full-service restaurant. After walking all over town, at the end of the day, it is nice not to have to leave for dinner or to enjoy the thermal baths. If you want to utilize the spa-services, book an appointment as they seem to stretch their staff out and you will see them running to and from completing many different jobs to accommodate the guests quickly.
