It’s nice place, you can learn more about the hemispheres and do fun activities at their museum, local restaurants and shops. You can do the egg balancing experience and take lovely pictures!

Go for it. An unique experience on your checking account ☑️ 🎁 box
This place is a must if you are in Quito. Clean and organized you will easily find everything you want. Artistic gallery, beer museum, cacao museum and an experimental room where you can play around with gravity and know more about what is like being I the real middle of the world.
People are kind and always willing to support/guide you.
Take your passport so you can have it stamped!
Cool place to visit. The actual 0.00 latitude is at the nearby museum. Definitely worth the visit
This was a great Experience! Great good, shops, and hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Quito.. Looking forward to new travels from here!!
The museum inside is so cool and interactive. I love this place! So many shops and things to see. Great restaurants and the view from the monument is amazing
I live in Canada now. But I was born in Quito, Ecuador. And I remember when I was a kid my school took us to the Middle of the World. All there was was a dusty gravel parking lot and a long walk to the monument.
Now there are restaurants to choose from. Museums, a plethora of stores to buy gifts or what have ya, live entertainment, and even play structure for the kids.
The monument inside now has experiments that the kids can do and learn from.
In my opinion is a great place to visit, and do it First before any other place in Ecuador. As there is information about every other tourist attraction in the country.
Do not take the elevator up in the monument you may be stuck in it for over 2hrs till the fire dep comes to get you out.
Luckily my kids and I decided to take the stairs looking at everything on the way up. But the group of Belgians that came in just behind us took the elevator and they got stuck in it. And apparently the elevator just got fixed and it it was new. so I was told by the staff that was trying to help the poor Belgians.
The half of the world is a great place to visit. Although modern tools have proven that it's not the correct line (correct one is about 200m north), it's still a great visit to learn a lot about Ecuadorian many cultures and the way the French expedition determined it was the half of the world many, many years ago. There are many souvenir shops (a lot) and many restaurants and museums. On the weekends there are cultural presentations, so make sure you go on a Saturday or a Sunday. There is a children playground, so all in all is a great way to spend the day as a family or alone (entrance is USD$5). You may bring food to have lunch in one of the many green areas around the site.
Middle of the earth is remarkable. We paid $5.00 which is a flat rate for all. Grants you access to the museums and beautiful crafts. Restaurants are available but they were empty when we went. We spend about 2 hours
Beautiful place! Can't miss it if you are around quito. Even though it is a bit far from the city it's worth the trip. Nothing expensive at all, just $5 per person. I wasn't expecting such a nice place. Apart from the famous middle of the world line you have different museums and attractions teaching you about Ecuador and its culture. You have some places to eat just in front of the park, so you can eat there if you don't want to eat inside the park which I assume is more expensive. Totally recommend this place.
Middle of the world is a beautiful place! They had restaurants at the top, a beautiful monument, and even live dancing! It was like a small town in the mountains that happened to be right on the equator it was very cool! The locals were very nice and there were shops with souvenirs and other items to purchase. The views were the best part. We could see long distances, and the sun shining through the clouds was absolutely wonderful!
Easy to go to! Worth a visit! One ticket and you have access to the whole area, which includes the monument and museum. The restaurants have good prices, but food is average (like in other such tourist areas). Nice souvenir shops that are moderately priced. I visited few time and it has been always a good experience. Well recommended!
It is easy to find it - just take the bus from Quito for less than 1 $, if you are not sure where to get off, just ask around, everybody will help you. They have a nice museum worth seeing. Don't miss the small chocolate museum as well located in this huge complex.
Good views, restaurants and shops. French engineers just a scooth off so visit actual Equator about 100 meters away and enjoy ethic history tour.
Great view. Could take pictures at the equator. Balance the egg on a nail. We had some good Ecuadorean food and got to watch some traditional dances. The place has different shops that sell artisenal handicrafts and chocolates. They have a planetarium. It's a nice place to take kids. They have a little park with swings and slides and lots of green space for them to run around.
Great place for some good pictures. The muesum and science experiments are good. The other 3 place history of cocoa, beer and housing not as much for me. Just come balance a egg on a nail!
Good to spent many hours. A rather wide variety of things to do. If you are interested in visiting more than one museum consider buying a full entry ticket. (They only checked my ticket two times so you decide if its worth buying a full ticket.)
Great place to spend the day. There's plenty of things to do besides enjoying the equator like a train ride and planetarium. There are plenty of shops and restaurants available too.
This is your standard tourist attraction BUT still a cool place to visit! The entry price is nominal and there are plenty of great views and experiences to be had! There were traditional dances and food abundantly across the park. Also, plenty of activity for kids! I would recommend for any guests looking for stereotypical tourist attractions!
Beautiful, relaxing, pet and family-friendly. The shops are pretty but I think they could add more variety to their products—sometimes it could feel as if they all have the same things.
One big tourist attraction. Go to the smaller middle of the world location just 5 mind walk away. This is located one the actual equator and much more interesting
While others may complain about the fact this is not built on the actual equator, it is very important to note that it was built in the late 1700's so this is as accurate a location as was possible at the time.
And it is a beautiful monument! Put in it's historical context, it makes for a very enjoyable visit. And there are many shops if you're in the market for some souvenirs. Lots of alpaca wool clothing.
We chose not to pay for the full pass as we just wanted the chance to see the monument up close. It's only $3.50 a person for the entrance to the city.
I would recommend visiting both this monument and the Intiñan Solar Museum down the road. The museum has a more recent, more accurate equator line. Both can be seen in a just a few hours. Take a bus back to Quito for a very cheap half day!
Cool architecture and worth a visit, but not as cool as the solar museum right next door (which also happens to be the true equator).
The equator!!! Sheesh it is hot here.
I could only give it 2 stars (wanted to give it 2.5 but cant see how). The reason for this is some people will love it being super hot, others not so much.
The equator is pretty big though.
Very cool park to visit. Restaurants and shops here are nice. Not necessarily my favorite place in Quito, but still a great place to visit and take in some beautiful scenery
This is one of the most touristy places in Ecuador. Arriving early will ensure you have a great experience. For $7.50 you get access to all the attractions on site. There are multiple food vendors around with different food styles from around the country (Coast or Highlands). Really cool to get some nice pictures.
A good way to learn about Ecuador and the native people. Also gives you the opportunity to attend in both the northern and southern hemispheres. It is worth a visit but you can work your way through pretty quickly.
