A nice hotel in the city center of Guayaquil famous for it's variety of restaurants, especially the canoa, which serves typical ecaudorian food, and stays open late at night, friendly staff. Parking available .the iguana park is just across the road. Buffet breakfast also served in the canoa restaurant.
I stayed at the continental hotel in guayaquil for a few days. It's a good hotel.good buffer breakfast as well. Very nice workers. It's in downtown, close to all important and tourist locations.
Very clean, cheap, reasonably comfortable beds, good staff, good breakfast buffet included at the attached 24 hr restaurant.
The two best things about this place was the location then the breakfast. You're in a cool place of Guayaquil. The included breakfast is delicious, fresh fruit, platano, mini pancakes, I loved it. The room felt very plain. The showers temperature was spotty. It would change on its own from warm to really hot. The worst part was the laundry. I walked for many blocks to try and find a local laundromat but was unsuccessful and was forced to ask the hotel. There were no more than 10 article's of clothing but I was charged $53 USD. The clothes were not all worth that new. The hotel has a very friendly staff, very nice people. I enjoyed my stay again for the location and food. My room was not dirty but my shower was so unbearably hot that I was almost left no choice but to go out dirty. I'm exaggerating un poco.
This hotel is nice but NOT rpt NOT a 5 star hotel as indicated! Service is ok and the breakfast is ok. The room is NOT as advertised! The Photos from the site were deceptive on the sitting area and the sitting space is not as advertised. IF YOU WANT A HOT SHOWER well don't come here! Bedding is little more than a sheet and there are not blankets in the closet.
So I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS ON ROOMS but in this case I have opted to write a review because when I raised the issue with the hotel they basically said sorry but it is what it is I asked to check out early and was told that due to their cancellation policy they were charging the full amount. When I raised that the rooms are advertised as a 5 star hotel and the quality of the hotel is far from a 5 star the front desk employee, Maria Jose, acknowledged this fact. I requested that the hotel allow me to end my stay and receive a reimbursement for the nights not used at the hotel and was told this was not possible I tried to explain that the fact that this hotel falsely represents itself as a 5 star location, which is an acknowledged fallacy, and my desire to switch to another hotel and still the hotel was not willing to budge on its "cancellation policy."
Instead of continuing to fight this hotel, I believe that the proper forum is this review.
DO NOT GIVE THIS HOTEL YOUR BUSINESS WHEN THERE ARE FAR NICER OPTIONS IN TOWN
Nice place, great breakfast buffet. It's located in downtown, close to everything. Very comfortable.
Nice place for lunch or a weekend brunch
La Canoa Restaurant is a nice place for breakfast and lunch
The complete nice place 4 diner and hospitality
One of the best local food restaurant. La Canoa
It's nice and clean good service
Nice breakfast, good staff. The only problem for me was the cigarette smell - in a non smoking floor. :(
Had to change room since the original one was old and dark. The new one is ok, kind of small to me, but ok. The price includes a Buffet Breakfast which is fine of a three or so day stay (after that you'll get bored of the lack of options and possible combinations). Tip: ask the waiter for a "Bolón de Chicharrón" at the breakfast, it is at no charge and it's a must have here in Guayaquil. Location I have to say is great, close to the "Malecón" and bunch of spots for sightseeing. Good hotel for business travelers with a limited budget, since they offer an special menu at a lower cost specifically for this customers. Why three stars? old building, no gym, small rooms, expensive laundry and lack of variety at breakfast.
Very good view, service and personnel that speaks English.
A simple breakfast that should cost no more than $15-20 in the US, came out to 1.5x that. Proof that this was plain stealing. A ham and cheese sandwich that costs $2.70 on the corner with egg, cheese and ham, these guys charge you $8.50+. They don't even tell you the prices or can't show you a menu to justify. Simple 2 egga and a few slices of bacon that should cost no more than $3, came out to $6.85. Unbelieve! Ladrones! There's the receipt for proof that I am not making this up. If I can give this place -5 stars, I would.
Very clean hotel with fast wifi. The breakfast is FANTASTIC with such a huge collection of dishes. The staff were friendly and had a good grasp of English. The complimentary welcome drinks were much appreciated too on a hot summers day.
A clean, comfortable and affordable hotel. Reception staff are helpful and speak English. Centrally located and across the road from the Iguana Park.
Good restaurant part of the hotel. Clean rooms, we had an excellent view of the Cathedral. Nice staff, the decent location. However, not enough restaurant close by and the street are somewhat dark at night. During the day it's safe or as safe a big foreign city can be.
