An excellent place to rest. Stunning view of Bahia Samaná.
Stunning views, helpful staff 5 stars acomodations
Great staff. Great location. Well appointed rooms. A great escape.
I wanted to share my bad experience to avoid other customers to live the same.
We check in February 8 for 5 days with my girlfriend. Arrived late and tired.
- No internet in the room, let’s say ok we fix that the next day, BUT
- No AC either, 81 degrees in the room, addin to that,
- Floating in the little bathroom after a first shower, we are not picky but we book a 5star hotel and it’s really not pleasant to walk in a wet bathroom with 81 degrees Went down to ask for help, nothing happened, got information that everything will be fix in few hours. Nothing got fixed.
Adding to that the power shutting down twice in the all hotel Common in Samana but generator not enough strong to keep the electricity. It’s a 5star hotel
Next day we ask to change the room, Martha the manager took care of that and changed it. BUT,
- No WiFi still
And
- No AC either
But the shower was at least not a problem anymore
Went down again and same information, will be fixed in few hours.
Adding this day no water between 10 to 1pm, was actually until 3pm, and COLD water when it came back
We are very quiet and peaceful but this was a bit far, so went down again and talked to Martha who gave us a rooter for the WiFi. We asked her that we don’t enjoy the stay and said to us that she upgrade us the room while we paid for the view we got and said that she will take care of us for the final bill !
Light of the hotel shut off twice a day still.
Third day we finally got the AC and Warm water the end of the afternoon.
So we spend 3 days on 5 to just fix things, I don’t even talk about the service at the breakfast who were misunderstanding on misunderstandings and my partner is Dominican and speak perfectly Spanish.
Check out arrived and Martha the manager denied her promise saying that we could change the hotel if we needed before and let us with no choice just to leave
Don’t expect to much from this hotel and for the price you will pay.
Hotel bannister doesn’t deserve a 5 star at all for the services, place and location are good in this beautiful part of Dominican but don’t expect a quality service especially with a sneaky manager, we don’t recommend the place.
Small marina attached to hotel. Friendly and helpful. Marina used only USA shore power connectors.
Very best hotel in dominican republic with very helpful and competent personal especially at the reception.
A cute quiet hotel, with friendly service and spacious rooms. This is more likely a better stay for people sailing in as they have a beautiful marina. The infinity pool hanging over the ocean is the major highlight for this hotel, with is wonderful view of the bay.
The wifi in the rooms was spotty or non existent, I was not able to get it to work on my android phone anywhere in the hotel, but my girlfriends iPhone had no problem in the lobby. The shower water never got hot, was lukewarm at best.
Nice sized rooms..
Excellent facilities.
Wait staff in restaurant could use some more hospitality training.or management. This was the only downside for the visit
Staff deserves 5 stars. The wifi in rooms sucks so bad. We had to ask for hot water for showers, otherwise only cold came out after about 12pm. Still, all of the staff is what made this place almost worth it.
I am not staying at the hotel itself, but at a villa that shares the hotel complex. The complex is called Puerto Bahia. We are a big group and it made sense to rent a villa inside the complex and 3 minutes walk from the hotel. We rented the Villa through Airbnb and use the hotel facilities.
Nice hotel. View is amazing. Beaches are wonderful
Preciosas instalaciones y personal muy amable. Ideal para el descanso o para salir a practicar deportes acuáticos en la bahía de Samana.
Beautiful accommodations and nice staff. If you're looking a place to rest and get in touch with nature, or even if you want to go sailing by Samana's bay, this is it. Next to the town and in route to Samana's others beaches.
