My husband and I was there May 1-5 2018 and it was wonderful! Our concierge Ricky was amazing! He made my Birthday was one that I will always remember. Rickey went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I highly recommend this resort to everyone! I loved it!!!!

My husband and I had a fantastic two and a half days here. Room with swim up pool was completely worth it and largely contributed to our relaxation.
Some cons though: food for vegetarians is non existent. There is occasionally a sulfur smell on a small portion of the property when the breeze blows it in.
Please note we were impressed how clean the property is, you can walk barefoot anywhere. Still, there was a somewhat musty smell in our room. We could smell it when we first walked in and then didn't notice after five minutes.
Also, we had a room near construction of a neighboring resort. We mentioned this as a concern (we actually upsold to this room on arrival) and they said work stops at 5:30 and doesn't occur on the weekends. That was a flat out lie. They work 24/7. It's not banging but a shrill piercing noise all night.
Our Butler was pretty much useless other than being a smiling face when we passed him around the resort.
Also, the seaweed mentioned in other posts is not an exaggeration.
We had a fantastic time despite all this. The liquor is fantastic. Don Julio and Hendricks at every bar. The people are nice. The room service "locker" is a brilliant bonus (even if you have to bed the delivery person to use it.) Beach service was great. Ordered drinks to our room through swim up pool by our room. Received the wrong drink but was a trip nonetheless.
The reason we won't go back is the food, although that comes from a vegetarian perspective.response / report this review -

Great room, comfortable bed, beautiful pool, stunning beach and great staff that work extremely hard to look after guests. If anything I would say skip the room service, which is mediocre. The breakfast and lunch buffets are terrific and the restaurants are excellent. Particularly the steak restaurant and the Mexican restaurant. It is well worth getting dressed and going out to eat. We visited during the off season and it wasn't busy anywhere but always live performers, pool and beach games, and plenty of fun atmosphere.

Me and my friend went to Secrets Cap Cana Resort for one week at the beginning of May. The resort was absolutely stunning and you could tell it was a very new resort with its modern and up-to-date furnishings and designs. The food was very good 7 restaurants I really enjoyed the buffet at lunch where one of my favorite food servers named glenya worked. The Mexican restaurant was by far my favorite their tortilla soup and fresh guacamole was out of this world. The people who definitely made my trip for the event staff. Chocolate was by far my favorite so personable and wonderful with all of our interactions. You could tell he was a very genuine and kind person. Blue was often doing fun events in and near the pool he was another one of our favorites and reasons for us to want to return next year. Diva and Bella were two amazing girls who always had Smiles on their faces and happy conversations to be had. Overall I am very much looking forward to coming back to the resort and don't have any negative reviews to say.

Phenomenal. Great attention to detail, great service, good food and drinks. Was skeptical of doing the all inclusive, fearing that it would be bland or monotonous but all fears were quickly replaced with delight. There is plently of variety and the service is always good. Room service is great, too, and the rooms are clean and configurable. Hotel has nice pools and is on a beautiful beach in secluded resort area. But do yourself a favor and venture off resort for local culture.

The service and friendliness of the staff was unbelievable!!! The rooms were spacious and clean. Every single staff member was so friendly and helpful, especially Eliezer, Chocolate, La Diva and Mr. Obama. The best restaurants were the seafood restaurants and French. I would not recommend the Italian or Japanese restaurant. There was plenty do to and the evening shows were better than I expected. I would definitely return here.

All inclusive. Property was very nice. Fairly clean. Food wasn't so great. Serviceable but nothing special but there were lots of options. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Work hard for tips. Rooms were large. Bathrooms great with huge showers. Winter time brings high winds I am told.

Amazing friendly staff. Bugs Bunny and Mr. Obama kept us laughing with the activity staff. The food was surprisingly good. Our favorites were the French and the Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the gorgeous open air lobby every nite after dinner. More mellow entertainment there. Poolside can feel like a frat party by late afternoon. We also did the sunset bike ride which was rigorous. Felt like a very safe area and the location is in the middle of a nature reserve. Also liked the health club. Well equipped. Enjoyed yoga on the beach too led by Barb. If you are not a big drinker you'd probably like the private side. That beach and pool was much quieter. Did I mention how pretty it is? Everything is spotless and the furnishings are contenporary. Lots of teak and natural fabrics.

Great resort and beautiful location. Still have some things to work on. Building was put up in a hurry or something found quite a few issues with things like doors, faucets, railings, lights not bring properly installed or were very crooked.
Staff was pretty good and were friendly. Food was very good. Did not like the fact that there is only 1 place to eat breakfast which is buffet style. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I like to get items off a menu not out of a pan of scrambled eggs. Beach and resort is beautiful and the water is turquoise. Good liquor selection, Johnny Walker Black, Grey Goose, etc. Nice infinity pool and large pool area to prevent overcrowding. Quiet and peaceful area, the resort is out of town by itself so no one is there trying to sell you stuff on the beach. 24/7 room service was available using a nice little tablet they put in every room. Also like that none of the restaurants required reservations.
The biggest downside (which is out of their control) is the wind. There was normally a steady wind of 10MPH at all times and it went to 15+MPH multiple times. This wind makes the beach unusable as you can't swim or use kayaks/water toys and get blasted with sand if you lay out on the beach. Other things were the poor workmanship and the fact they still haven't fixed the issues from when it was built, the service was a little slow and there are no drink menus or cool/local drink specials to choose from. If they installed some wind barriers on the beach that may help so at least you can get a tan listening to the waves.
Overall a nice resort with good food and drinks but it's not in my top 3 for my favorite resorts in the Caribbean sea.response / report this review -

Just returned. GREAT EXPERIENCE. Only one year old and spotlessly clean. Great pool and beaches and a yoga or stretch class every morning. Nice gym with an attendant to keep it tidy.Great staff that's always friendly and helpful. Five 5 star restaurants with great food, drinks and service. A different live show each nite.. About 20 minutes south of the airport and nothing around but lots a new resort is breaking ground next door. Highly recommended, If there weren't so many different places in the world to explore, I'd return here often. FIVE STARS

Nice place. Beautiful Beach. Resort is new, clean and the service was excellent. Special thanks to Jonathan, Diva, Bella, Ada & Victor. Their service and attention to detail was above and beyond our expectations.. The only reason for 4 stars is the mosquitoes. Not Secrets fault.

I would not recommend this resort at all see why.Went to this resort when it first opened. The resort was not completed on time as planned, so we had to listen to construction going on all day long. Restaurants were not open. Food was less than par. People didn't have rooms that they had bookedthey were placing guests at Sister resorts. It was a disaster to say the least. We received and invitation to return to the resort. We decided we would try it out for the second time and it was like being at a 3 star resort second time we went. First time we went we had two lounge chairs at the swim out swim up. Now they only have one chair to lay on at the swim out swim ups. Most people are traveling as a couple so this is really frustrating that you can not relax with the person you are traveling with. Also the food is less than great. Edible but not 5 star status. This is also suppose to be all you can eat and drink resort. We stayed on our room mostly since we had the swim out swim up. They tried to limit how many drinks we had daily.and would tell us they were out of things most of the time so they wouldn't have to replenish the refrigerator. The small refrigerators don't hold a lot to begin with. So we would have to leave our room if we wanted to get water, beer, or a drink. Again frustrating when you are paying for something that is part of your package. The entertainment was the most atrocious spectacle we have seen. We never went back to see anything else when we saw the show was amateur, and not professional. The beach had seaweed that smelled so rank you could not be on the beach due to the stench, or if you wanted to wade through about 3 to 4 feet of seaweed then you could go swimming. Our room was also full of mosquito's that we had to fight off, as we were chewed alive, took us days to get the room clear of them. Then we had to put a towel over the door threshold so they wouldn't get back in. While the scenery is nice here. The water looks good from afar but the beach is not really accessible because of the seaweed and stench smell of the seaweed. The service it terrible and food only edible. We have been here twice and once to Punta Cana. We will not be back to either destination. As these resorts are not 5 star at all. Not worth the money. But if you have less than par standards paying 5 star prices then you might be at home.

This place is amazing! Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating at the buffet for most of our meals since their selection was soo good! The staff was very attentive to our needs and made sure we were satisfied. It was especially nice that the entire resort was all adults, which made for a very relaxing long weekend.

Most of the staff is wonderful. But there are problems. The telephone in our room did not work consistently. The toilet in our room did not work at the end of our stay. There was a long wait to get it fixed and after it was fixed it still did not work as it should. All items on the menu were not available. Steaks, chops were not cooked to the desired level of doneness. The is no hand rail to assist older patrons in getting out of the pool. And the last step was high.

Best Secrets Resort, any resort, we have ever stayed at! Resort opened in November 2016 and is amazing. Beach, pools, food, drinks and service are perfect! Best food that I have ever had at an all inclusive resort. The staff is excellent and they are very helpful with anything you need. This resort is remote, nice for us, but if you want to go to Punta Cana plan on a 30 minute taxi drive. Rooms are unbelievable with double shower, double sinks, king size bed, and enough room for another four people.
We like to visit a local town when on vacation, but nothing in site from the 5th floor.

If you are thinking about booking this place for your next vacation, you have thought too long! This secrets resort is absolutely amazing! The staff were outrageously energetic, helpful, and friendly! The swim up rooms were straight out of a magazine. The resort was clean and upbeat 100% of the time. The food was five star quality and there was something for everyone here! Only negative comment I have is about the seaweed on the beach, but as far as I can tell everywhere on that side of the island has the same problem and to be honest it's not that big of a deal.

By far the best vacation. We had the swim out room. Honestly, we did not have to leave our room. Our Concierge Jorgehe was to best. He went the extra mile to take care of us and as a bonus, we had some really deep, enjoyable conversations with him. Really good guy with a good heart. At the sea side grill, Elias was out server. He was great! He went out of his way to make us happy as well as the host Lidia (I may have not spelled her name correctly but she treated us like family) And the chef (he looked like he was still in high school😂) took care of us..for real!!! Go across the sea side grill and there was a young waitress who was super nice. We really liked her (i can't remember her name but she was super sweet)Go upstairs and you got the man Jean entertaining us while serving drinks. It was an awesome trip and we are definitely coming back again. It felt as if we were leaving family members after 5 days.

People were friendly and always wanting to help beach was beautiful. At time activities folks were too aggressive even bothering when sleeping on beach in a hammock. Food was consistently poor with limited options of the same stuff. Room cleanliness poor as black pubic hairs left throughout room when we arrived and in new blankets brought to room. Caught them filling premium liquor bottles with bottom shelf liquor at multiple bars. Booked an 80 minute massage and she decided to finish at 45 minutes making excuses about time. They did book me another one for later. All and all I wouldn't come here again and if you do all you need is a long weekend max.

We were met at the front lobby with a glass of champagne and a "welcome home". We were consistently referred to as "family". The staff that ran the days' activities should get a raise in pay! They were nothing short of awesome! Food was very good all around. The place was absolutely spotless very well kept! My wife and I enjoyed the catamaran to Seona Island. That day trip is a "must do". Going back to the D. R. for sure!

Went to Secrets Cap Cana over the New Year about 1.5 months after they opened. LOVED this resort, it is absolutely beautiful. The images online look unreal but it is even better in person. The staff overall was great! Very attentive and kind. Entertainment was good at night. Improvements can be made with the evening dinning (food quality and length of service time) and maid service (room needed a bit more cleaning each day) but I still give this resort 5 stars because we went shortly after opening and even with these two issues it was still our best vacation ever. It was romantic, fun and everything we wanted.

Amazing service! Booked through apple vacations and everything went smooth! Took a bit long to check in once we got here but we were handed champagne right away and the people were so nice so all is good! Beach is absolutely stunning, can be peaceful and romantic or can be lively, which ever you choose. Many chairs on the beach to pick from and no wait to sit and eat. Very helpful and kind staff and very clean!!! Yes there is some seaweed but they are continuously cleaning it up as it rolls inswim up suite is gorgeous and maid service is very good!

Breathtaking views from the main lobby!! I take that back -breathtaking views from anywhere in the resort. All of the decor is beautiful/contemporary. The staff is truly amazing. They strive to make you happy! Tipping is not required, but they provide excellent service so we tipped them all. The food is delicious. So far all of our dining experiences have been wonderful. You can tell everything is so new- some post construction is still going in- they randomly fix things that need to have finishing touches. I can imagine this place being infinitely amazing in a few more months when they get into the groove of things. The swim out room is awesome. We were shocked a waitress even came to get our drink orders while I was swimming at our swim out pool. I did not expect that. Do not hesitate to visit here :)
