I was here in 2017. I was disappointed we weren't greeted when we arrived in comparison to other hotels where they greet us with drinks. The air conditioning did not work. The plug ins were in bad condition. There were coachroashes and lizards in the bathroom. The evening shows were entertaining. There is little variety in the buffet. The restaurants with required reservations weren't much better. The employees were nice. I would not return. The last day there wasn't anyone to help with luggage since there isn't an elevator.

Very large resort with lots of people. Staff good but not very personable. Room was good but had several small repair issues that needed to be addressed. Room cleaning not good. Bathroom area was tidied, towels replaced and bed remade but room not cleaned daily. Floors were not swept or vacuumed. Food was good. Beach good. Too many smokers everywhere for my liking. I would have preferred designated smoking areas. It was hard to avoid. Vendors were present and were pushy. They really try to push the excursions. Overall nice though.

The place is beautiful with nature, trees, flowers and birds. We loved the atmosphere here. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was good. Rooms comfortable. No not a 5 star but we would definitely go back without hesitation.

Absolutely loved it here. Rooms are a little out dated but they are clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay here. Only thing that wasn’t the best was the buffet but just make daily reservations to the restaurants. That food was much better. Also, The people are respectful and nice. I’m already planning my trip back!

A great place to leave all of the trappings of the modern world behind.
The staff is amazing, friendly and very accommodating to your every need, whether it's the housekeeper, the front desk staff or the bellboy they are here for one reason - the guests.
I have yet to pass someone from the staff that hasn't said hello and greeted me with a big genuine smile.
Although this isn't a 5 🌟 resort you can't go wrong. Lots to do if you feel like doing activities to fill your day and a great place to do absolutely nothing.
I will definitely be back for more asap.

feb 2018 stay at the resort for 3 nights they do not provide shuttle buses to and from the airport we had to take a cab which cost 30 US. once we got there to check in we upgrade our room for about 120 total for 2 of us .since I read other reviews with the upgrade they said it comes with bottle champagne and a bottle of rum which we got the next day with a fruit basket. They also said we with the upgrade u get a 20 min massage which I didn't do. The room was clean right by the pool area. the outlet is not the same as in the USA. The food was good and the drinks were good. Everyone was nice, allot of kids and family, so its a kid friendly place. Its just a little outdated something's need to be renew. this was a last min get away and it wasn't bad.

Nice resort! Some rooms are starting to date a little but we were fine with ours. Food we had was all good. A little tip and service was amazing. The Beach was ok, although lots of weeds carried to show overnight every day. They try to clean up daily but it's not easy easy. The animals kept in site are beautiful and give it a relaxing vibe.

Stayed here in January 2017, for a week. The location was perfect, not among the other resorts, giving it a lot of beach space, also near airport and excursions. The room was large, beds okay, but both TV and phone were not working. We were very happy with how nice and cool they were. Some door in the bathroom also was broken. Pool was great, swim up bar was an amazing feature. Beach was very accessible and large for everyone. Food was all great of course, had some of everything, The nightly themes were a good idea, appeled both kids and adults. Service good. I loved it!

Resort is mediocre at best . YOU only get the good liquor if you pay extra”select”. Its sad when Cuban resorts are better. YOU must pay for EVERYTHING; internet, safe rental. They don’t even have card readers on doors. If you want a trip back to the 1960’s I recommend you go here. However it is a good resort to DETACH from society! + the staff are super friendly!!!
    Room has AC!

Great location. Staff friendly . There are alot of vendors on the beach do not buy from them . The cigars are dried banana leaves , the excursions do not exist they are their to rip you off. Buy from your travel rep or the guys in the resort. They use US dollars more than anything. Will expect most major currency. When tipping use notes the staff will not except coins they think it is a present not money. Just say no to the vendors if they persist call security. This part of island very safe. Make sure you have holiday insurance the medical here in resort very expensive . Make sure you get the key for the safe in your room when you arrive. Wifi $65 for 10 days. If you know spanish does help even though most of stafg speak english as well . Otherwise this is a beautiful location

Food and beverage above the average of other same rated star. The beach is small and seawater never clean or clear. Be sure they give you a functional room in term of electricity and AC. The staff is listening to you if you distribute tips around.

Grounds were very clean and well kept, so was the pool. The rooms need major updating. Our first room had no AC, asked to be switched and received a room with a leaking toilet and a broken shower head holder. We left it at that to not stress anymore.
The buffet food was mediocre. Very repetitive and not well cooked. For some reason they serve alcohol in paper cups which is horrible due to the temperature. The ice melts in seconds and the cup makes a huge puddle.
The staff remind me on modern slaves. Very sad to see how they treat their own local people with such disrespect. But the workers are so nice and sweet. Only reason for the 2 stars.
Mostly families with kids. Not for young adults looking to party and have fun.
Bars close from midnight to 10am. Sucks when you pay for an all inclusive and get restricted service.
Overall, I do not recommend. Stay away. If you're on a budget go to Be Live next door.

The standard rooms are terrible! We stayed in one for three days and were promised an upgrade each day. The room smelled awful; mold & mildew. The beds were tiny! Everything just seemed dirty; the walls, the floors, the bathroom! The tv was about 40 years old, the fridge didn't work, we didn't have towels for two days! The fridge plug was broken so someone had stripped it to the bare wires and stuck it in the outlet! The upgrade to sea view was much better, but it took a lot of noise and persistence on our part. The buffet and bars were fine. Very nice staff for those services. The three restaurants were worse that the buffet. Don't bother! And at dinner at Media Luna, I was shocked to see a huge rat wander by our table! If you go here, upgrade ahead of time to the best they offer! The people of DR are very kind and seem to know the resort situation! They are very appreciative of tips and are kind when you attempt to speak Spanish.

Changed rooms 4 times, varrying reasons: - - Leaking roof
    - Unclean
    - Loud next to restaurant
Also extremely slow service. We're talking 4 hours later, calling every hour. (Not just a one time, occurred over four different times.) The staff share tips, so they don't care about good service. Bars were always missing drinks and couldn't make.
Tons of food, so this was a plus. Be careful and don't over indulge. Believe everyone for sick from the bacteria as the food suits our for long periods of time.

The staff (local Dominicans) were very helpful and friendly!! BUT the resort itself (we had a standard room) needs maintenance. The maids were wonderful!!! BUT they cannot change the rotting, molding grout, caulk around the base of tub - it needs to be scraped out and redone. Someone had filled in grout on bathtub tile but never wiped the grout off the tiles - a very messy job. We never saw gardeners but they do a TREMENDOUS job - the grounds are lovely and the flamingos and peacocks a treat for us. The place seemed over crowded - we hoped for quiet rest - but contented ourselves with the natural beauty. So, our only problems were with the owners and their investment in the place. WE DID leave tips - since it is "all inclusive" - people eat, drink A LOT (it was embarrassing to us) and we felt concerned for the common worker - probably getting minimum wage and no tip??

Resort is older and could use some room updating. The airport is about 20 minute shuttle service. We paid for the upgrade which included the updates to room premium liqueur and privileged of private beach which made for a wonderful stay. The 3 ale carte restaurants served gourmet food. The resort grounds filled with mature plants trees and exotic birds. Nice place to relax.

One of the worst resorts I have ever stayed at, I wish there was an option to give zero stars. Upon check into our original room we found signs of bed begs and bloody sheets. We reported this THREE times to reception and they said someone is on their way to inspect the room. After waiting for 30 minutes in the room we decided to go back to reception. It took us TWO hours to explain to them that we can't live in a room infested by bed bugs so we need a new room.

Our new room wasn't infested with pests but was very outdated and the cleanliness was very questionable.

The resort itself is fairly nice and close to the beach but the service is brutal. Never did they apologize for their mistakes they made which inconvenienced our vacation. The rooms have regular keys instead of key cards so if the person who is holding onto the key card is not with you, you are out of luck. It took me 30 minutes to get the reception to open my room at 2 am when I was locked out and my roommate who had the key was no where to be found.

The food and the water is awful. Some may taste good, but out of the 3 people staying in our room, one was hospitalized for 2 nights due to a stomach infection and one became very ill on the last night with food poisoning and the flu, so that speaks for itself.

Avoid this resort at all costs.
