Staff awesome, great food, beautiful views, weather was perfect 😎, especially escaping MD in March. All water for food and drinks bottled so no yuks thank God! Yes, we had frozen drinks and ate everything served. We went for a week, all inclusive, definitely worth it. Small resort but lots of entertainment. Security kept local sellers off property, just beware once off property you're free game lol.

This place over books! Booked here MONTHS ago for our honeymoon, went to check in and they told us they upgraded us to another hotel. The hotel was HORRIBLE! Then we call to find out what’s going on and she stated they over booked. We called numerous times prior including family to make sure our room was taken care of for our honeymoon and we were all lied to. The hotel they sent us to had cold water, no towels, horrible food and service. Don’t set yourself and be stuck like us in another country!

Presidential Suites is a great all-in if you're looking for a hotel on a smaller scale. The food in the buffet is definitely above average. You can't beat the location as the beach is a few steps away, along with other shops and restaurants located to the left of the resort. Capitan Cook, a beach front restaurant located down the way, has an excellent seafood selection. I suggest you try it if you want something other than what the resort has to offer. Be sure to make reservations for dinner the day of arrival if you want to eat at the speciality restaurants. Yes, we encountered a few issues with no water in our suite, but things happen. Don't get frustrated as the issue will get fixed. If you make the best of your stay, you'll have a good time!

I loved this resort. It fulfilled my much needed "R&Rcation". The food was great and so were the people. Ana kept the rum punches coming while we enjoyed the pool and at dinner Jesus, Junior knew to keep the mojito and source coming!! We even had "drinks" with breakfast. We visited during DR independence so there was a lot of different festivities. There was a pregnant waitress which I admired, she was far along however she didn't let that stopped her from working and moving very gracefully. I loved getting up to the ocean from view! Take a walk to the left of the resort you will find local gift shop. Please walk until you hear a vendor who says, "cheaper than Walmart",they are indeed cheap. His name is Junior! Stop by the store next door and get your coconut very refreshing. Two ladies(I forgot their names) are along the strip they give the best massages cheaper than the resort!!!

Just returned from Presidential Suites. Had an amazing week ! The resort although on a smaller scale , led to meeting fellow guests which made the week more enjoyable! Our 2 bedroom suite was huge and well stocked , when asked staff was always willing to accommodate us. Food in Decadence was good Saturday night welcome dinner was amazing! Pools nice, beach beautiful sand and ocean divine! The best asset to this resort is their wonderful , fun, energetic and lively staff! Beach waiters Juan and Mary became our fast friends! The coco bongo boys were charming! But BEST of all were the entertainment staff. .Minime, JC, Melvin, Kastelina(Kathy) were just wonderful people to spend our week with. They gave 100%to make sure to involve the guests in activities and fun ! Great dancing, games, volleyball, yoga. Aerobics so much more fun in the sand. You couldn’t help but have fun! The nightly shows were good as well . We miss them
All already! OMG!! Aye-ya-ya! Thanks for a wonderful week ! We hope to come back !

It's beautiful here so I can't complain too much. However, it's an all-inclusive so the staff can get really pushy when it comes to going to the time share meetings and playing their outdoor games on the beach. Sometimes you just want to relax and not play volleyball or participate in relay races. The rooms were comfortable and always clean. The reservation-only restaurants were yummy! I'd go to the Dominican Republic again in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't stay here again.

My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing getaway. We were able to finally achieve this after the sales presentation and fielding vendors on the beach. Once we settled in to the upgraded beautiful penthouse suite with a private rooftop terrace we were able to relax. Dinner at Carpe Diem and Kimono restaurants was superb. The buffet offerings for breakfast/ lunch were tasty at Decadence. We were able to also relax at VIP cabanas on the beach where service was top-notch. We will definitely book here again.

Always have a good time. Great place to relax, but plenty to do if you prefer that to sitting on the beach. Only downside is the volume of people soliciting you to come to their so it buy from them. That is very irritating whether it's the people they let set up in the resort itself or when walking down the beach. If the resort wasn't as nice as it is I would rate it a 2/5 solely because of the harassment.

I just came back from a week here with my boyfriend. Overall we had a good time. I’ll explain below each aspect.

Service was fine, no disappointments. If you tip them they pay more attention to you in my opinion.

Food was good at the buffet. They switched it up everyday we were there. Lots of choices. We made a reservation and ate at one of the restaurants, Kimono (Japanese) one night but this was worse than the buffet.

The beach area is small, the resort is much smaller than most but there are usually always chairs or beds available. Nobody uses the pool much because well, why would you when you have the ocean in front of you.

The entertainers are there all day and night. They were super awesome but sometimes I needed a break from them. They constantly are making you play games and getting you involved which is fine for some people but if you want to just relax it’s not fun.

Sales people on the beach are the worst part. It’s miserable. Everybody sits on your beach and each time you go to the water bugs you. They can’t come up to the chairs but as soon as you walk down into the water they do. Sales in the hotel isn’t terrible. The massage guy John bugged us the first day but as soon as we said it was too expensive he left us alone. They take you to get your “welcome gift” and you end up with a sales person trying to sell you to become a member for two hours. Annoying.

Our room was nice. We got upgraded from a one bedroom to a two bedroom. Only saw one bug the whole time in there which from reading other reviews seems to be a problem.

Again overall the place was nice if you are looking for a small resort where everybody knows everybody this is the place to go.

The resort is one of the smallest we have stayed at. The staff was fantastic, made up for some of the amenities that were not there. Idea place if you are looking to just relax and do not need a lot of entertainment or activities. Food was good, beach was nice, again- staff was the best.

We vacationed here in April 2017 and had an absolutely fantastic time! The entertainment crew, Castelin, Robinson, Happy Boy, Jefferson and Manuel made our stay extremely fun and memorable. This crew works non-stop so the guests at the resort have a great time. They are friendly, upbeat, and all-inclusive - getting you involved but not in a pushy way. This team should be commended for their efforts; they do their job so well!

We were fortunate to have a three-bedroom suite, which meant we also had our own private roof. The rooms were large and clean. The food was varied and delicious. I thought the restrictions on the times to eat would be a problem, but it was not.

Great vacation! Great staff! Thank you for the memories!

Restaurants had no available reservations for dinners until after we left. Had to go off-site to find non-buffet food. Off-site directly next door was sketchy, the locals like flies swarming and harassing the tourists. Friend was even attacked over there in an attempted robbery. Drug dealers and prostitutes hang out on the beach at night standing right behind security. Constantly bombarded by sales people even on-site. We found everyone except guests to be fake and constantly lying. Even resort staff would speak about us in front of us in Spanish when they didn't realize I am fluent.

Got trapped in a 'non timeshare' sales pitch more than two hours. (Promise of welcome package t-shirts that would take 10 minutes.) Sounded interesting but asking to see the deal in writing and discuss outside the high pressure sales situation was apparently offensive. Salesperson also turned to manager to speak in Spanish about us right in front of me, again I'm fluent. Funny after we escaped, existing VIP members approached us worried we fell for it. They regret buying in.

Room wasn't horrible for a third world country. Old, patched up and some small mildew issue. There was no hot water for days until we realized we had to turn the water heater on. Even asking staff, they told us there just isn't a need for hot water in that climate. Apparently we were also supposed to know to ask for blankets as all we had were sheets. When we did ask for more drinks in the fridge wee just got water. Other guests had theirs restocked. Housekeeping kept turning the A.C. back on when we turned it off so we were often cold with no blankets and cold water. There were also a few roaches around.

We also had a day without running water for most the day. No showers in the morning, or to rinse sand off after the beach left the suite a sandy mess. Nothing done to compensate for this day of hot, sticky, sandy hell.

Without buying a membership parts of the resort are off limits. Drinks are smaller, service is worse.

Entertainment staff was probable the best thing. We didn't find them fake or dishonest like most everyone else in the staff.

The fitness center advertised doesn't exist.

Even vendors on site with souvenirs tried ripping us off. Asked over $700 for 6 items we later found around $80 with less haggling or pressure. They were like vultures, and obnoxious.

I could write more and may later, this is crazy long already. We will stay at a better place next time however. One with more than a tiny beach, more honesty, and definitely less predatory staff. There were some great guests and some nice parts to the stay. Just mostly not so great for trying to just relax

They have to work on putting umbrellas in the beach. People struggle under those two small trees to get some shade. It seems like it's not a problem because you are in the beach but actually it is. We got sun burn and it was not comfortable at all. Putting umbrellas in every resort is a must. Other than that everything was fine

The rooms are apartments, very big, nice design, but boy were they built poorly. Our first room was right by the beach, we were so happy with the view. We woke up in the middle of the night to an awful smell a sewer line had been compromised during a rain storm & our room was flooded. They couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything for us & I had to call them again in the morning to demand to be moved to another room. Apparently no one knew of our situation. The second room was near the street, so definitely not a nice view. And there was mold starting everywhere. It really was such a shame. The place looked so promising. Also, the food was not great. I think I might have actually lost weight on this vacation, there were very few items I could manage to eat. The plus side was the people, every body was very lively (they accept tips & demand it), but the guests were amazing. We made so many good friends.

First and foremost, these reviews below are VERY inaccurate of the actual experience you will have at this resort. Compared to all of the other resorts my husband and I have been to, this was by far the worst one and we have NO intentions to ever go back. Every single day it was something. The entire resort is very old and is falling apart. The day we got there we had no blankets, towels or wash clothes in our room and when we called to have some brought to the room it took about an hour. Second day there was no hot water, this also took about an hour for someone to come by to fix it. The dining room table literally collapsed after setting my purse on it and took 2 days for them to bring us a new table. There was a dead cock roach in the kitchen. The things we left on the counter to be taken away or thrown out sat there for 2 days before the cleaning lady finally took them out of our room. One of the days the cleaning lady emptied our garbage can and never gave us another one so we had no garbage can in the kitchen for the rest of the stay. Most importantly the room never really seemed clean, the floors were never swept or mopped because you could see all the sand still on the floors from the day before, ect. The drinks were very basic, not tropical or decorated and all made from box syrups. There were no fresh purees or even mint for mojitos. The pool is far away from the beach and the music that you felt isolated. Day/Night entertainment was very weak and not that well put together. One of the other very big let downs was that the front desk did not have any US money. We tried to tip our servers and no one on the entire resort had change for even a $10 bill. Very disappointing, we had to walk down the street to the Western Union. They should want travelers to tip their employees. Another reason to avoid this resort is because there will be an employee that tries to sell you a time share and will take up hours of your day, not what we're on vacation for. The natives that stand on the beach by the water are extremely aggressive and make you not even want to go to the water.

The only good thing was the food was good. Reconsider coming to this resort!

Room wasn't clean when we checked in, refrigerator kept flooding the kitchen in the middle of the night, internet was intermittent (and they charge $60/week to use it), the charge for safe locks ($20), wall paper was coming off the wall in room, only one remote worked and they did not replace the batteries even after we requested, elevator was broken when we checked in, beds were only box springs with sheets (extremely uncomfortable but apparently the 'standard bed' for the resort), maid would onky replace some of the items each day (some times fill the fridge, sometimes remember to put the towels in), bed bugs, food was bad - undercooked chicken is always a bad thing, the carpe diem restaurant was a horrible experience as they failed to cater to my food allergies purposely bringing me food i could not eat after I specified what I could eat in both English and Spanish, locals that lived on the resort did not keep up their 'condos' so it buildings near entrance looked like they were ran by slum lords, night snack bar only had hot dogs, cheeseburgers and stale fries made in old oil, they treat RCI members like peasants and then try to get you to buy into the LHVC membership claiming they treat those clients better and there is NO nightlife activities at this resort. Also, the spa is unsanitary I requested to speak to management concerning the issues i was running into on several days but they avoided me. I wrote a five page list describing these issues and never received feedback or even acknowledgement from the management. They are more than willing to take your money for piss poor service and a smile though. Also another set of guests were robbed and assaulted by local thugs the day they arrived to the resort which was two days before we left. Beware and be careful.

After reading another guests review I felt it necessary to add the following:
    - the locals have gotten hip to ripping people off. They will be more than willing to take dollars and give you pesos in change even though they have change in dollars (they want to make more money off the dollars)
    - no one takes American change (quarters, dimes, etc)
    - taxis to and from the airport is $35 each way for the ride
    - taxi drivers do have a book of fares dont let them tell you differently
    - pay for everything in pesos (its cheaper) just dont exchange money at the airport
    - you can leave the resort everything is cheaper when you leave the resort and dont pay their upcharges for excursions
    - it pays to do the math on the exchange rate every time

We stayed the last week in Jan. '17. The room was very nice:2 bed/bath. We had the AC on and fans the entire time to keep out the music they had going.
The staff was friendly. We had a safe in our room where put cash. Bring LOTS of ones for tips. No one can give you change.
The beach is beautiful- and this resort seems to be one of the best around. The beach bar staff was always friendly & accommodating- we tipped a lot and that helps!
The food in the buffet was okay, but left us feeling "funny" - not sick, but bloated, and just all around blah. I researched the Dominican type foods and it says it make many Americans feel a little off. It may be the spices or oils used in the foods. We were glad to eat "normal" food again, and I don't mean just fast food.
We took a regular taxi to and from the resort. $78 for 2pp, all both ways.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful experience for the most part, but that was mainly due to the employees there. They were so dang friendly and enthusiastic it was contagious. The entertainment crew there appears to work from early morning until the late hours of the night teaching yoga, playing volleyball, doing some late night dancingIt was fantastic.

Our room was a suitewe weren't expecting that. We had a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, guest bedroom, living room/dining room, guest bathroom, and a kitchenette. The cleaner came every day (albeit not on a regular schedule). The downside was that a couple of days the guest bathroom towels weren't replaced and the sheets were never replaced. We found a hidden "Change My Sheets" sign the last day of occupancy.

I do have to say that the buffet, Decadence, was not great. If not for the awesome people working, this review would have been a 3 star. Several times we found raw chicken/pork/beef. Our diet consisted of mainly bread and cheese in the afternoon/evening. Breakfast we were able to order omelettes which was a godsend. We had fabulous food at Basil & Tomatoes as well as Kimonos.

Another downsidegetting change. There is no ATM there, so you would have to leave the resort to obtain additional cash. We brought $20's that we thought wouldn't be an issue breaking down for additional tips. It was a hassle to get change. We found a work around by going to the few slot machines they have there and playing until we got the $20 down to like $18 or so and then cashed out. My advice, plan ahead and bring $1's.

I saw a few posts about being confronted for timeshares. Yes, you will be. But we firmly turned them down a few times and they left us alone the rest of the week. And they don't hound youthey are all pretty friendly about it.

I was so happy to have such a wonderful experience at the Presidential Suites. I know that if we do come back to Punta Cana, we will be preparing a little better (bringing tip money and perhaps going to a grocery store for some food to keep in the kitchen) and staying here.

The weather was the best part of our stay. Warning! This place is a trap for timeshare salespeople to *hound* you with every step you take on the beach or every move you make towards the restaurant. Totally detracts from trying to relax. Facilities had multiple faults (no hot water in room, shower flooded floor, etc.) Restaurants were "okay", but if you have food allergies - you're out of luck. Staff speaks very little English - so make sure you brush up on your Spanish. Don't drink the water - we got sick. Also - even tho it says "all inclusive" - you'll need LOTS of cash for tips.
