Came to Cabarete to learn from scratch. Instructors are top-notch; better than my instructor from the OBX. I compared prices and quality up and down the beach and this is the ONLY shop that cares more about you learning to kiteboard than squeezing in another lesson when the wind dies. Instructor could have kept teaching in sub-par conditions but the school called it off because the instructors care more about the quality of the lesson than about making money. Location in unbeatable for Northeast America and Canada. You're making a mistake if you go anywhere else to learn to kiteboard.

Great experience! I had private lessons for a week. The staff is very nice, the equipment good. I felt much more comfortable with a kite after my lessons. Highly recommend it.

I have had great experience at Gokite. I did semi private training with my friend Vassil. Richard notified us every day when to come based on wind conditions. Our trainer/supervisor team were Joel and Anthony and they did fantastic job to ensure safe and smooth transition as we progressed. After being able to kite on my own I was supervised by Junior and Biko, they were both monitoring carefully and helped instantly when needed. Last day Richard flew a drone and made some awesome videos, can't be more satisfied with the Gokite school, super friendly staff of locals, modern equipment.

Great experience! We were a group of three and had never done any kitesurfing before, we were up and riding in the water in no time. Juan Carlos and Raul were excellent teacher. The supervisor also gave us some good tips and tricks and helped us a lot. Richard was a great host and welcomed us and made sure we had all we needed, even got the drone out to take some nice video of our rides. Definitely planning on coming back and would recommend the school to anybody who wants to go on a kitesurf trip.

Just AMAZING! I know many schools in the world and this is definitely first class - top choice at Kite Beach! They're very flexible to individual needs and wants (so important and somewhat rare), great focus on safety and absolute stars at making you feel comfortable whatever your skill level. The team is also super professional, friendly, love kiting and know how to share their passion and they'll always make sure you're having the best time :). HIGHLY recommend it!

Richard and the Gokite Team are the best instructors on Kite Beach in Cabarete. If you want to support Dominicans this is the place. Gokite is 100% owned and operated by local Dominicans that live and kite here everyday. Our lessons with Raul got us up and riding in no time. He made it so much fun for us we return every year. It's also the best vibe on the beach for chillaxing. They know how to show everyone a good time all while laughing and having fun too. If you already know how to kite their day trips to flat water paradise is not to be missed. Flat warm water ALL to yourself. SO SO SO MUCH FUN.

Absolutely amazing staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a group of 6 people and we each had our own instructor (the private package). Everyone was very happy with their experience.
When travelling to Kitebeach, the number of choices for Kiteboarding schools can be very overwhelming. We booked our lessons Gokite Cabarete in advance and once we got there we were so happy that we chose the "most professional school" in the area.response / report this review -

One of the best kiteboarding schools in the caribbean! Competent management, quality gear, dedicated, knowledgeable and fun staff will ensure you have a great experience and are up and kiting in no time! Cabarete kite beach is also a blessed spot, with constant winds and nice water temperature. Counting the days to go back :)

Richard and his staff are very helpful and enthusiastic professional coaches.
Lots of happy families, with beginners such as myself, to the seasoned extreme free style riders., Some of us taking lessons, others trying out different equipment.
I enjoyed their team work, and ever patient sense of humor as several different instructors provided helpful hints to get up and ride. Yes - they succeeded!
I am definitely going back. Chill place to hangout , catch up on emails while taking a break. Great place to meet old and new friends alike from all parts of the world.
Cool place to hang out and enjoy some of the best sushi around at the clubhouse restaurant "La Mesa Taina"
