Good selection of items, efficient checkout counters, convenient parking in front and another larger parking lot located about 100 yards from the front entrance to the store. The store has a counter for cell phone services from Altice.

Horrible customer service, never have the exact change and they offer you candies instead. Your bags will be retained while you're shopping (Is everyone a thief in this town?)

This is the only place in Cabarete with a good selection of grocery items. It's not that broad though. Note that they won't let you in with a bag or purse. You have to leave it in a cubby at the front. They give you a tag and someone watches the cubbies but you may want to consider what you bring.

Not the largest store of its kind but excellent and surprising selection of American & other foreign & Dominican foods & goods. Friendly & helpful staff. Will deliver on orders over a certain minimum, great if you're staying in a walk-up! Walking distance to central Cabarete. Be careful walking anywhere though - motorbikes & broken sidewalks mean you need to pay attention! No crosswalks or traffic lights yet.

The place has a ton of good stuff but we got accosted by the undercover security guard because my wife had lollipop wrappers and a tissue in her hand from our two daughters. She took them out of the car to throw away but there were no trash cans in front of the store and we just went about shopping. Fast forward a bit and this random guy steps in between me and my wife and starts accusing her of stealing stuff because she has the wrappers in her hand. It was crazy, and super unprofessional. He made a huge scene and embarrassed the hell out of us and made my youngest daughter cry from the whole deal. It killed me to spend our money there and will never return after being treated like that.

Janet's is a relief from the hectic nature of the main street. It is run with decent professionalism, and the help is as you should expect. Some items are not well placed, for example, pasta sauce will be in a different isle from the pasta, but I found it fun to see other tourists asking each other "have you seen this, or that?". I joined in and we all got along fine.
Prices are good and well displayed. The selection is admirable.
I even forgot to bring enough money one day, and they held my purchase without complaint until I could go back to the hotel and return with the proper amount.
I would suggest shopping here for sunscreen, cooking supplies, shampoo, drinks etc, instead of the street venues where you will pay double in "tourist tax" (getting charged extra because you won't know any better).
Clean, convenient, reliable. Key words you'll appreciate when traveling abroad.

Fantastic spot to go for all your grocery needs. Great selection as well as reasonable prices. Also pick up your wine, beer and hard liquor here. Lastly, one of the best places to exchange your money in Cabarete :)

A great place to find most anything you need from liquor to toilet paper. Their fresh breads are perfect with some cheese. It's a fun place to visit just to experience the commotion.
