Der Palast der Republik ist abgetragen, die Zukunft gehört dem HumboldtForum im wiedererrichteten Berliner Schloss. Die Eröffnung ist für 2019 geplant.

This is a decent shopping mall in Steglitz. All of the usual stores are here: H&M, Esprit, Media Markt etc.
They also have one of Berlin's few Apple stores, Mac House.
The way it's laid out, it seems quite small and intimate. But it's not - there are loads of shops here.
It can get very busy on weekends.
Very convenient for public transportation, there's an U-Bahn station right outside.
It's not bad if you're in the area, but it's not worth taking a special trip here.

Am Wochenende da gewesen. Verfolge über Webcam den Wiederaufbau. Einen kleinen Teil des Flügels eines Engels gespendet und fühle mich richtig wohl. Uns sollte die optische Wiederherstellung des Zentrums am Herzens liegen wiede

Ich war hier für eine Führung durch die Baustelle und fand alles sehr aufregend! Unsere Tourleiterin war sehr nett und hat alle Fragen gut beantwortet. Hoffentlich werden Bauarbeiten rechtzeitig fertig sein!

Worth a visit. There is a very nice model of central Berlin and the whole story of the old palace. There is a sample from the Ethnology museum that will move in the old-new palace and a good observation point and café on the top floor.
