I went there two times to buy different accessories for my Sony A6300, both times they were really friendly and helpful but I ended up buying in another store since their prices are considerable higher than in other shops
Service was terrible and they did not have standard items.
just bought 35mm films there
Poor manners. bought my 70d elsewhere
Unfortunately yet another one of Frankfurt's "iconic" camera stores. And by "iconic" I mean "well stocked, unfriendly, and expensive." Places like this, much as I would love to support the local economy, are the reason Amazon and eBay exist.
- went there to see if they had a Leica Digilux 2. This is one of those cameras that have a somewhat cultish following and takes extremely recognizable photos. The attendant first laughed at me for "buying amateur junk" (wrong) and then tried to sell me a M8 from Leica, something completely different. Even IF I'd wanted an M8 camera, I doubt I'd be willing to pay 400 Euros ($700) over street price.
- Brought in my D4 and was told that it could not be repaired, followed by an attempt to sell me a new one. Sent it in and had it back 12 days later, $60 down, good as new.
In general those guys think themselves the height of pro photography in the city (and don't spare heaped ridicule on everyone else in this town, mostly over their choice of gear and "bad compositions". Go there if you KNOW what you want, don't mind being sneered at for being a lesser photog, and have some extra money to spend.
