I'm a lifetime Platinum Elite. 1) Asked for a room upgrade. Employee said it was already a “king” upgrade which was the same as my travel partner received without an upgrade. I had to get a manager involved to push it and was provided a suite. This shouldn’t have to happen.
    2) Lack of recognition for Platinum Elite – I never, every had this happen. I stayed more than 750 nights.

Christoph Flaggl, Director of Rooms Division contacts me with this resolution, which is unacceptable given I had asked for points compensation."Please contact me on your next trip to Berlin and I will be happy to arrange your booking and welcome you in person.” This is not acceptable.

Second prolonged stay in a month, the staff and accommodations are outstanding. The lounge is convenient and comfortable. I would recommend this property to anybody.

Excellent service. Had left my bag in a cab arranged by the hotel. Got it back with no problems at all! Super efficient and caring too!

Hotel is awesome. Great staff, great service, very nice rooms. One of the best executive clubs I have experienced. Will definitely be staying here again.

Central location within a short stroll from the Brandenburg Gate and surrounding landmarks. Also very handy for the metro to get elsewhere in Berlin. Rooms clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is expensive but lots of options elsewhere and continental breakfast in your room is much more reasonable. Lots of restaurants on nearby streets including the Sony Centre.

Clean, fresh, friendly! Handy location, friendly & helpful staff (including at check-in), really a delightful experience :)

    GOOD:
    - Lots of personal attention when checking in! (got offered map, asked if this was my first visit to berlin, etc.)
    - My Gold status was really honored here: executive lounge access, 10th floor room on exec floor, free breakfast & light dinner in lounge, etc.
    - Was happily accommodated for a check-in 3 hours early
    - Little touches were nice like the welcome brochure being useful and having German and English in different sections (vs. annoyingly interspersed).

    NOT GREAT:
    - No hot tub.
    - Minor annoyance of being surprised by an ~$11 city tax being asked for upon check-out (couldn't think be incorporated into the earlier paid rate?!)
    - Er, can't really think of anything else!

It was an amazing stay. The room was one of the best I've ever had. The lobby, the bar, the hotel staff - everything was great.

The hotel has a great executive lounge. Food and drinks, with a full meal served at dinner. Worth gaining access. The location is central, but not near walking distance to anything interesting other than a mall and the cinema.
