5 star is a very bad joke, maybe 3. Either services or equipment were far behind our expectations. This hotel was just bizaar. Old bathrooms, lack of attention from hotel personel. Not enough personel according to number of guests. The hotel director main interest was to ensure we check out on time meanwhile have not seen the disaster around him regarding the service Food was okay, wellnes as well. Dont go there if you want get value for your money.

This is a 5 star hotel, but our room didn't have tea or coffee facilities in it, we had to request it, nor did it have an iron or ironing board which we had to ask for. The worst thing was we asked for an envelope to post a postcard home, they said they didn't have one! We got one from another one down in the square. The Ruze has character and a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the river, it's just a bit sad the little things relating to service weren't that impressive.

This is a true bit of history. It's not a super clean, modern, American-style five-star hotel, but for the traveler who cares more about interesting architecture and true history, it's a real gem. I attended a chamber music concert in their Jesuite Hall - fantastic experience that I will remember forever.
Also, do not expect wireless internet to work well - it's very slow - possible to send emails but not Skype very well. Tip: try walking around the bar area and dining rooms downstairs to find stronger signal.response / report this review -

Everything was great during our short stay. Room was comfortable clean and quiet. Staff was competent and helpful. There was no parking on the premises but our van was valet parked by a staff member. The location was great in this charming medieval town. There was a great buffet breakfast served with seating in the restaurant or on the patio . I highly recommend this hotel.

Way back in the eighties, when visiting a paper mill nearby I hit this place regular.
It is an old traditional house.
Always been welcome.
Good parking opportunities.
Very good local food and drinks (local beer from the brewery next door😊).
Nice clean rooms.

Great location and view. But definitely not a 5 star hotel, as advertised. Looks better on photos than in real life. Inside its getting a little dingy, with broken showers, shower gels in broken containers screwed into the walls and vacuum-like hair driers attached to the wall. But to be fair, haven't seen other hotels, so maybe it's the best in town, for all I know. It's not bad, but definitely doesn't meet the expectations.

I had Christmas lunch here. Wasn't too impressed with the service. They were understaffed despite it being one of the top hotels in Cesky Krumlov. Moreover, the food was mediocre. For the price you pay for I was expecting something of a higher level.
We requested for a photo to be taken by one of the waiters, however, he declined due to a busy service. He never came back. Nonetheless, his colleague took a photo for us.
There are far better places in terms of customer service and quality of food in Cesky Krumlov.response / report this review
