This was my first time vacationing out side of the USA and Canada. I must say I'm extremely impressed. The service was incredible and food and drinks were fantastic. I will definetly be booking future vacations to this resort.

Beautiful location. Immaculate grounds. Food average at best though - plenty of it but nowhere near international 5* standard. The sea front is very rocky where the water meets the land, with a large wooden deck area built up over it stretching for 100 or so metres. There are steps down into the sea though, and once you're in it's beautiful, turquoise water gently shelving away from land. Can walk out 50-60 metres from land and still only be chest deep. There are sun beds and cabanas on the deck, with a wide strip of sand behind the deck where the kids can play. The main Playa Pilar beach is a 20 mins walk down the coast, and is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Oh, and despite the fact it costs about $3 a bottle for Havana club running Cuba, the bars all serve a cheaper local blended rum that tastes like bleach unless you specifically ask for the good gear

Beach is totally insufficient, there is no beach in fact, just a deck above the ground level, which is definitely not enough for those who like sand or travel with kids. The real very nice beach is like 2 km away. Hotel is severely understaffed everywhere, kitchen, maids, maintenance staff, must recognize though, that those people who are available work extremely hard to have place running. Food is reasonable, one has a restaurant option 3 times per week stay, so it helps as well. Internet is always an issue in Cuba, reception is so-so and only in a lobby area. Swimming pools are very good. Overall this hotel is no more than three star when comparing with competitive Caribbean destinations.

Friendly staff. Good food. Cold beer and drinks. Most travelers sitting around the pool. Lots of shade on rock beach. Huge empty sand beach. Kayak and paddle boats. Shallow water goes out far and wide, safe for small kids. Rooms very clean well maintained. Nice grounds. 1 hour drive to town (Moron). Scooter rental and taxi service available. Day excursions are ok.

Pilar beach is a walking distance. Playa Pilar is the best beach in Cuba.
Iberostar Playa Pilar is a new hotel.
The rooms and food are the best what I experienced in Cuba.

No pressure from the local people.
No Cubans on Cayo Guillermo or Cayo Coco.

The islands has 17 resorts on them.
Only resort workers are staying on the islands.
Not much to do outside of the resort. Good for relaxing.
The closest town is Moron city 60.000 people living in poverty.
Just a note if you rent a car or scooter make sure you have some cash money on the way back to Cayo Coco from the main island.
10 miles access road is a toll road.
If you spend all your money in Moron City the police won't let you cross the bridge to Cayo Coco.
The distance between the resort and Moron City is 60 miles or 100 Km it is going to be a long walk for you.

Room is ikea-ish ; not enough storage space, poor selection at dinner when you arrive late at the buffet, but food was decent by Cuban Standards.

There is no real beach on the property; be careful its rocky, the real beach is a 20 minute walk away which is not bad. The resort is new; if you are inconvenienced in any way ask to be comped right away not later.

Shows are amazing; cigars are not all available as it appears distribution around Cuba has not been settled. Staff is nice, service is decent.

Restaurants are not worth the hassle, Eat dinner at the Buffet. Water bottles are rare, make sure you ask for extra ; it could be an issue. Also if your flight is delayed leaving, make sure you ask late check out. All in all a decent trip was there 2017-12-26 to 2017-12-30 (5 days) pictures at IG : @yng_40

just back from here had a brill chilled time!!
a couple of things let it down first the food in the buffet restaurant is not the best to say the least we were sold this as a five star hotel and it's nowhere close!! the 4 restaurants on offer are better we found the Mediterranean and Japanese the best and both are fantastic the breakfast is not the best but ok the staff are all fantastic another thing let's it down is there is no fans in the reception area so it's a bit of a 'sweat box' come night time to have a drink the only air conditioned bar is the cigar bar and the night club do take some mosquito repellent because they are out in force at night both my wife and daughter have to have an injection after the first two nights my daughter was bit over 120 times!!😐

It was probably the best vacation I've ever had. With 19 family & relatives members, it was very fun for all of us. The foods were delicious, the beach was gorgeous that I never wanted to leave. The staffs we're very friendly and funny, there's this bartender from the bar in the lobby and he was fun. I'm pretty sure his name is Adrian

I loved my week there, was really dissapointed it was only for 7 days wish it had been for a longer time. The buffet was the best place to eat. Was warned about food in Cuba in General, but this resort had a great buffet. The people were so friendly already pricing out my next visit.

It is a really amazing place for the price. In the beginning, we have several concerns about this resort such as food, safety and service since we have a kid of 6 years. When we got there, our concerns were completely gone. The staff are very nice and you can enjoy various drink and delicious food anywhere and anytime. They have kid club daytime and wonderful show in the evening. Most important, the sea view is marvelous and the water is very clean and colorful. The only flaw is there are many flies and mosquito. You should prepare some insect repellent for those annoying insects.

Came here for 6 days. Clean purified waters out of the pipes, great pool deck, closest resort to the beautiful Playa Pilar beach, a la carte restaurants were pretty good, people are friendly and helpful. Only thing that sucks is Internet costs $1.50CUC per hour, you need to buy cards and it only works by the pool and main lobby. Other than that it's a fantastic resort!

This was a beautiful location, about 45 minutes away from the Cayo Coco airport. The beach is not the best as much of it is very rocky or muddy, but the resort has built a boardwalk over the rocks with cabanas and lounge chairs. Once you are in the water the sand ground you walk on is beautiful sand with amazingly clean and clear water. The food is as good as it gets in Cuba, take some spices and sauces along with you like ketchup and hot sauce. All of the staff are amazing they are the most genually friendly and helpful people I have ever met.

I give this resort AAA PLUS. we travelled there together our 3 young children from Toronto. We stayed for 1 week. This resort is very family oriented where both parents and kids would have lots fun. Many families with their young or older kids were there. Rooms are very clean and nice. They had 3 different buffets. 4 open bars every day, 3 open until mid night. They had a snack bar open for 24 hours. There are 2 swimming pools on large (Not deep) one smaller (for young kids bring a life jacket to have peace of mind). Staff were EXCELLENT and very FRIENDLY and also Caring. They smile all the times. You feel like being at home. They have entertainments programs EVERY evening for both kids and adults on the stage. Very safe place to be with family. There is a shallow beach where you can swim in the salty water. There is a riff behind the wedding place where you can fish if you are a fisherman. Live bait fishing works better.
