A long way out from Havana centre.
Stayed 3 nights, in different rooms
1st night asked to be moved as the room was so Smokey. 2nd in a lovely bungalow a bit close to the main road. On return, a pleasant enough room but the picture shows the state of repair. The water pressure was hit & miss. As with much of Cuba, toilet paper only in your room. Get used to carrying your own. Staff were either really pleasant or very unhelpful. Decent breakfast. Well kept grounds.
It is ok but far out
Hotel is good. Everything is Great. Only problem I had was one day for a couple hours there was no water in the morning.
Do NOT stay at this hotel. We were put into a room that did not have running water and was beyond infested with mosquitoes so terribly that you couldn't even see the bathroom sink. When we requested a new room due to the living conditions we were ignored and told someone would come to take care of the issues. They eventually turned on the water but the mosquito infestation was ignored. The staff was not friendly and not helpful. Be prepared to pay for every single thing down to even drinking water.
No beach here!
Main hotel building is old and run down, definitely not 4atar.
Newly renovated townhouse, villa style accommodation is the only way to go here.
The attached mall is always good for an afternoon visit, have a drink on the terrace and watch the locals while there have a bbq chicken outside the food hall fantastically prepared by Jose or Joel.
.. .. we booked this hotel as a Freshen up & rest stop as we had to leave Cayo Santa Maria a day earlier to be able to catch our flight to Turkey! We traveled by luxury coach and it took us over 7 hours to get here! We only arrived here at 23:00! When we arrived we were blown away by the sheer elegance and the class of this hotel, we we’re allocated a self catering unit(rather a big house!) right next to the massive swimming pool that give you the impression that you have just arrived in Venice, you even have to cross over the bridges to get to your unit! Wow! Already we were overcome by disappointment as we will only only be here for 5 hours as we have to leave early for the airport! The reception was warm and the lady was pleasant she even offered us a breakfast at 05:00 at the poolside bar as they only start to serve breakfast at 07:00! At 05:00 after a very short nap we found ourselves at the poolside bar enjoying a cup of extra coffee and a cheese & ham sandwich! Our only disappointment is the fact that we we’re unable to explore and enjoy the beauty of this Unique Venue! Expensive but also worthwhile as it’s located in the more quiet and elegant part of Havana where most of the Foreign Embassies are to be found! If you looking for elegance do try this hotel! On the downside the self catering units are in need of refurbishment as most of the equipment was old and the electric cords frayed, the bath in the bathroom was kinda rusted! The small fridge was just dumped in a corner on the kitchen floor! But again this was only a means to an end, we needed to rest and freshen up,
Nice area, with several pools, but it really looks old and renovation is needed
The building is divided in two part: one main old building and new villas. It is rated as 4 star and i may agree
It is cuba so everything is very old and this hotel is no exception. Friendly staff.
One of the oldest hotels in town, with ocean view.
Looks nice from the outside and the lobby is fine too. We didn't have a room in the hotel but one of the little apartments around it. The apartment is not particularly clean, besides it seems to have been a smokers apartment. The smell was appaling And the look of the curtains as well!
Also many broken things like cupboards, general appearance tells of neglect. Shame, could be such a great place, sitting as it is right be the sea!
For breakfast there's a big choice, but again - dirty dishes and tablecloth spoil the appetite. No go in my opinion: the musician playing during breakfast time and going from table to table in between songs asking for money.
One good thing: the shower has been the best so far in Cuba. Apart from the stained towels
Staff is friendly and the hotel is situated ok, you can get into Havanna quite easily.
Wonderful experience in there!!
Would not honour prepaid reservation, said they were sold out of that category. Shabby 'beach'. Nice shopping mall attached.
Wasn't actually at the hotel but the Galleria next to it. Good shopping and a couple of good cafe style restaurants. One restaurant serves BBQ chicken and pork skewers - very reasonable too!
The Hotel is a good choice for a Budget travel. It is an Old style hotel right to the sea. There is no beach, but a park with a sea view. Good breakfast. Located in a good area, with Embassies and Consulates. Easy to go to Havana, or to the airport, by taxi, with a fixed cost always - 15 CUC to the city, 25 CUC to the airport. One CUC = 1 USD
totally not for the price, instead rent a room from a local, much cheaper and better atmosphere
