This place is nothing short of incredible. Bryan and Sean are top notch guides as well as hosts. If you want to enjoy the real Costa Rica, give them a call.

My husband and I went on our honeymoon at Surf Costa. We were greeted by Sean at the airport and made our way to the Surf Costa property. Sean was super friendly and made us feel at home immediately. We stopped at a grocery store to grab some snacks and drinks for our room, and also stopped to get a bite to eat at a local spot. My husband and I spend 5 days with the Surf Costa family. We hiked, went on an ATV tour, visited a wildlife refuge, snorkeled off of Isla Tortuga, did a catamaran cruise, had banana boat rides, zip lined, jumped off waterfalls, stand up paddled through the mangroves, and so much more.

For dinner, Sean was happy to recommend several local spots to my husband and I, and each place had delicious food and drinks. Sean drove us to the restaurants and would pick us up when we were done. It made the entire experience so much more relaxing knowing that we wouldn't have to worry about getting a cab after dinner being that neither myself nor my husband speak any Spanish.

My husband and I spent the second half of our trip at Villa Caletas, and while it was beautiful and luxurious, we truly missed Surf Costa. Not only the adventure, but the people! Keep in mind: Surf costa is not a luxury resort, so if you are expecting mints on your pillow, look elsewhere. The rooms at Surf Costa were still clean and our room was very spacious. We had our own kitchen and were situated nicely in a jungle-like settling.

After my husband and I left Surf Costa for our "mints on the pillows" hotel, we actually arranged to meet back up with the Surf Costa crew even after our stay was up so we could still do some tours with them. Sean, Arielle, and Bryan are all wonderful.

We had a blast and couldn't have asked for a more awesome honeymoon! We would recommend this to anyone! This would be perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, a couple of friends, or a large group!

I discovered Surfcosta through friends and after hearing about their incredible experience booked an 8 day stay with them for our honeymoon. My husband and I wanted a vacation that was a mix of beach and adventure and Surfcosta delivered. We had Sean as our guide who instantly made us feel like we were being guided around by a longtime friend. The room we had was perfect, a private terrace with a hammock that I utilized in the mornings to eat breakfast and listen to nature surrounding the property, a spacious room with a queen bed, kitchen, and relaxing shower. When you stay with Surfcosta, you get to experience the best eats, beaches, hiking spots, and snorkel trips through the eyes of a local, which I feel is the greatest way to really visit a place. By the end of the week, I legitimately felt depressed the vacation was ending and my husband and I have already started talking about our next time down. We both agreed it was the best vacation we have ever had and it made our honeymoon next level amazing. I cannot recommend a stay at Surfcosta enough. You will love your time here and wish you were never leaving!

2nd time staying here at this family friendly getaway. Do yourself a favor and skip the hotel, surf Costa will show you the real side of Costa Rica. Having an English speaking guide the take you to every meal or beach excursion and get the low down on the best places to swim and eat makes your vacation exponentially better.

Spacious accommodation for 5 of us with a lovely open plan kitchen/living area. We were initially disappointed that it was not closer to the beach, but we soon enjoyed the benefits of returning to the privacy and sanctuary of being in the forested garden with a beautiful swimming pool and outside cooking area. Our hosts, Sean and Arielle, were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Had a great time at Surfcosta. They had a great pool and our tour guide Sean took us around to all the sights: white water rafting, zipline, surf club, manuel antonio hiking, etc. Plus he also took us to some of the local bars and restaurants that we would not have otherwise experienced.
