Beware: 7x24 noise, and poor internet access.

It's a nice place, but there are two major problems with Bahia Encantada which may be dealbreakers for many travellers visiting Jaco, Costa Rica.

First, there is some kind of cockfighting operation right next door to the complex, with five or six roosters, which crow and squawk, not just at sunrise, but all day and all night. It was tough for even a sound sleeper; lights sleepers will find it intolerable. It isn't like road noise or loud music, which many people can block out; it's like crying babies. I am rather surprised that the the Lost Beach and Bahia Encantada management has let something like this go on.

Second, internet access is set up badly. All of the WiFi antennae are mounted outside the building, so you can only login and maintain a wifi connection if you are at the pool. It doesn't work inside your unit. Costa Rica is hot and humid, even in February, so this can make extended use of wifi inconvienient and unpleasant. With the price per night north of $250, that is unacceptable.

I spoke with other guests and they were experiencing the same problems.

There are many nice things about the Bahia Encantada; The pool and beachfront access are great, it is secure, and the staff are nice. It looks great on the website, but that isn't going to matter if you can't get a decent night's sleep, or need to access the internet.

Clean well maintained condos. However would have been nice if the condo had a few basic necessities such as oil salt pepper dishwasher soap.

Perfect beach get away. Great accommodations for six and awesome views. Short walk from heart of town. Negative, aways from best surfing locations in Jaco.

Bahia Encantada was great! The thatched bungalow over the pool and all over feel of the complex is amazing. The north end of Jaco beach is particularly beautiful.

One of my favorite condos in Jaco. Off the beaten path, but still very convenient access to everything.

My first time in Costa Rica and the Bahia Encantada was wonderful. We rented a two bedroom condo on the beach and could not have been happier. We stayed for over two weeks and didn't want to go home. The security is wonderful and is always there to help and make you feel secure and safe. Love this place and can't wait to return.

My trip was booked through Lost Beach Vacations which told me how nice this place was. Very wrong!! My visit was Horrible! This place is under major renovations. Workers show up at 7:00am and the noise starts and goes all day. Scaffoldings are up around the buildings and workers are looking through the windows at you. The elevator only worked 2 of the 6 days we were there. We had to walk 4 flights of stairs several times a day. There is a bar next door which plays music extremely loud till 3:00am. finally get to sleep and 5:00 am the roosters start crowing. Poor water pressure and hot water. This is the worst stay I have ever experienced and Lost Beaches DID NOTHING. Oh WiFi was not working on top of all that!

My 1st time to Costa Rica and this was a great place to stay. Food and shopping are close enough to walk under a mile from town. From Southern California

Great place to stay with family, esp when staying longer than a couple days. Walk to grocery store, downtown, beach, pool is directly outside the units. Use the kitchen to prepare your own foods. Use washer and dryer if needed. Feel safe in a gated community. Restaurant next door (but with higher than average prices/ a tourist trap)
This place is like being at home.
