  I just spent a wonderful week with the folks at Safari Surf School in Nosara, Costa Rica. From making arrangements to my actual time there, everything was perfect. The staff will make you feel like family and welcome you with open arms. Tim (the owner) is based in the US but don’t worry, you’re in more than capable hands. There’s a good reason these folks have been around since the late 90s. You’re going to have a blast!

  Amazing instructors who make sure you have the right technique so you stay safe and prevent injury. All instructors are local, and a part of the community, so they know the water and the beaches better than some of the other schools in the area. They also offer a women's bootcamp with yoga and massage.

  Enjoyed my private lesson with Safari Surf School. I only had one lesson and I was able to get up and ride some white waters during my trip to Nosara. The school is conveniently located on the property of the hotel we were staying at and made it easy for my boyfriend to rent surfboards from them. All the instructors are ISA certified, which made me feel extra comfortable and know that I was in good hands.
  
  I deducted a star from the rating solely on the condition some of the boards were in. I don't know much about surf boards, but my boyfriend had a hard time with a few of the boards that he was renting during our stay. A good amount of the boards were in "okay" condition with others having dings to the board, which I guess can affect how they ride.

  My first time taking lessons and had an amazing experience. The whole staff at Safari Surf and Olas Verdes were terrific. My instructor, Hibreath was a real pro and very patient. He walked me through the steps and ensured that I was successful from start to finish. You can tell that all the instructors love what they do. I had such a good time I was back every day. I highly recommend for anyone at any level to come to this school when in Nosara.

  I took my two kids over for an introductory lesson with Adam. Within 30 minutes we were catching waves at Mission Beach. He broke the process down into easy steps, and most importantly, made sure everyone was having fun. He was fantastic with the kids, and even let us stay out an extra 45 minutes. Easy booking, easy parking, great instruction - what more could you want? They even knocked 10% off the fee (without us asking) for having our own wetsuits. An awesome experience all around, and a wonderful introduction to surfing.

  It doesn't get much better than Safari Surf School. Amazing people, fantastic waves and the perfect location. My kids were just learning and couldn't wait to get in the water everyday.

  Tim and his crew of instructors are awesome. They consistently under-promise and over-perform. They are laid back but professional and pleasure to be around.
