Happened upon this place by accident. It is across from the church (highly recommend visiting for the beautiful wood ceiling) and just off the square.
The proprietor is a very nice younger gentleman who was most gracious in handling our lack of Spanish. We ordered the special with chicken, fried plantains, poco de gallo and salad, and the beef chalupa - served with cabbage rather than lettuce. Proportions were more than adequate and the dishes were nicely presented and very, very good.
With two Imperials, the total came to $20 for perhaps the most authentic, and certainly delicious, meal we had in Costa Rica.response / report this review
