  Friendly. Country. Rustic. Close to the park.
  
  These cabins and land are owned by the nicest family who really take a lot of pride in making their guests feel welcomed. Each member of the family helps with a different aspect of the business and lives on-site.
  
  The cabins are about a 15 minute walk to Tenorio Volcano National Park where Rio Celeste is, about a 10 minute walk to the park of Rio Celeste you can swim in and a 30 minute walk to a coffee farm you can tour.
  
  Even though this is waaay up in the mountains, there is a TV in the cabin and their internet always worked. Other than these features, it is an unplugged experience. The cabins are tin roofs with no A/C or heat and mosquito nets over the beds. The sound of the rain on the roof will give you the best night's sleep ever!
  
  The cabins are quite rustic, so if that's not your jam, you may be happier at a more hotel-like place. Posada means hostel, so if you go in with that expectation, you'll be pleased. The walls are not sound proof at all, so keep that in mind when talking in your room!
  
  There is hot water although the pressure isn't great, but remember, it's rustic. They accept U.S. dollars and local currency.
  
  Take time to explore around the cabins, because their garden is outstanding! Plus the owner (the mother) has two parrots - Francina and Francisco - who live in a nearby tree who are endlessly entertaining!
  
  The restaurant (La Amistad) is right there and served amazing food!!! No menu; just ask for what you'd like (I think they only served the traditional casado dish, but you could choose what kind of meat and we couldn't get enough of it).
  
  I recommend downloading Spanish on Google translate, as most of the family members only speak Spanish.
  
  It rains almost every morning and although there was only one day where it rained all day, you may want to bring a deck of cards or something just in case. We ended up playing games they had there.
  
  Bring warm clothes. I was surprised by how cool it got!
  
  Bring binoculars. There are birds everywhere!
  
  I also recommend visiting the Natural Surprise Rio Celeste. It's amazing!!

  Awesome quiet place. The little walk to rio celeste which is not part of the National park is amazing. You also can swim there which is not possible in the national park.

  Absolutely love this place, it is so tranquil with beautiful surroundings. Staff are amazing as is the food. Walking distance to the park and the secret swimming hole in Rio Celeste. Highly recommend Posada!

  Truly amazing stay here at this family owned and operated resort. The family is unbelievably warm, kind and welcoming. The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL. Food is made with love and quality ingredients, mostly casados/arroz with chicken/beef/fish but def one of the best meals we had during our 2 week stay. It's a very short drive from rio Celeste and the volcano national park.
  
  Meal times have roughly set hours- be sure to ask. At night they close the gate and turn off any unused lights, keep this in mind- but not an issue for us because it was such a beautiful stay and we never have woken up more refreshed

  La Posada Rio Celeste was nothing short of perfect. This was a very unique experience for my Canadian friends and I.. The hotel is family run and has a very authentic charm to it. I want to extend a big thank-you to Elias as he made our experience so great with his kindness. Additionally, my friends and I agreed we had the best dinner of our entire trip at this hotel. Thumbs up 👍🏽 thank you, thank you!!

  Very special stay here :) it's hosted by a very Kindle family. The room has his charme. Don't expect a lot for 2* hotel. We had a very great time here. Very helpful. The entry to the Rio Celeste national park is very close, like 10min walking.
