This is a wonderful place. You cannot beat the location; we saw monkeys, land crabs, beautiful birds, leaf cutter ants, lizards, toads and beautiful orchids along the path to our rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are excellent!

I really enjoyed this place. Apart from being right at the entrance to the national park where you can see amazing animals the lodge itself is pretty worth having a good look around at. There is a 1km trail right next to the swimming pool that leads into the forest and we spotted monkeys, toucans, tarantulas, lizards and iguanas, a snake and all sorts of other spiders and insects. Our room didn't habe aircon but it had a fan which was sufficient. In the morning we were woken up by howler monkeys which was great. There is also a nice swimming pool to cool down and the food was quite good as well. Would come here again.

Stunning amount of wildlife to see. Friendly dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Eco conscience. Comfortable accomodation. Please note there's no ATM so bring us dollars/colones.

There are several Lodges along the peninsula stretch of Tortuguero, one of them is Pachira. We where given a group guide long before reaching the lodge, as the lodges are taking full responsibility on guests from the beginning of the transportation from San Jose. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive for the whole 3 days period. We even stopped several time on the way by bus and boat to observe local sloths. Once getting in had the facility into tour. The accommodation is basic but appropriate. Three daily meals and complementary shopping in the village provided all our needs. The nature exploration by boats (the only way in Tortuguero) was wonderful. Highly recommended!

Beautiful grounds, average food, the rooms had no privacy. I could hear the person put their keys down in the room beside me.

Nice accommodation, no glass in windows, just mesh. Food OK, just OK though. Plenty of wildlife to keep you interested. Plenty of hot water and the staff were pleasant
