My husband and I had a two night stay at Monteverde Inn in March. We were just so struck with the beauty of the grounds and the view from this place! There is a small but lush preserve attached to the property that is lovely to walk. The views from various look outs and expansive front "yard" of the property are awesome. Our room was tiny but clean, the bathroom even smaller, but we can't complain since all of our time was spent out of doors. (We also could only book the most economical room because of availability.) The front desk help was friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the open air restaurant ambience and food. Would definitely recommend a stay at this spot when near Monteverde!
Excellent ambiance and friendly service. Pizza was a solid choice. The restaurant closed a bit early, but that's par for the course. Its location down a leafy, secluded side road is nice, but also a bit daunting if you want to walk anywhere once it gets dark.
We visited just to take the walk but we also had some drinks at the café. The trail loop is very well marked and has plenty of viewing points to stop at and take in the amazing views of the landscape. The path itself can be a little step in some places (notably around the waterfall) but these can be missed out if you want to. The café serves amazing smoothies, just right after a walk around the trail. The staff are friendly and helpful as well.
After a major and multiple Travelocity faux-pas the Inn did their best to accommodate a family of five and succeeded. The place is great with modern amenities and locally grown food. They manage the establishment with respect for nature, down to metal straws, compost, solar hot water.
This hotel suprised us by being so much more than expected. Beautiful property, friendly staff and a very nice restaurant and breakfast area. As a guest you have free access to the many surrounding paths where you are sure to spot some wildlife and scenic views. Glad we stayed here two nights as the Monteverde area has so much to offer, but wished we could have stayed longer.
Gorgeous property with views of waterfalls and canyons. It seemed to be very windy all the time here and did get a bit cold at night, but rooms were clean and staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Food in the restaurant was very cheap and good! Great price for what you get.
Magical surroundings, nice accommodation, comfortable, perfect for families.
We walked the trails through the reserve multiple times never tired of the stunning views and the amazing wildlife to be seen.
Restaurant with a million dollar view has very good pizzas and local food.
And there are the hammock gardens, you'll have to find out yourself.
One of the best places in Monteverde. Highly recommend this place. It's so close to nature and staff are so friendly
Reasonable priced. Staff was wonderful. Nature trails attached to hotel was a wonderful bonus. Saw many monkeys, coati mundis, and other creatures during our hikes. Definitely would recommend. Great value!
Most beautiful spot in Monteverde - astonishing sunsets and nature in this private reserve with own trails. Rooms are clean and cosy, breakfast fresh. Jonah is a great host with great knowledge on la naturaleza! Thanks to the team
Lived up to the reviews! Great property and service! Saw a number of species of animals right on the preserve. The oven baked Pizza was very good and reasonably priced. It was a pleasure to support a facility that works reducing it's biological impact. (Solar, water reclamation ponds, etc)
We definitely enjoyed our stay at Monteverde inn. The accommodations were modern and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the cafe was delicious and a very good value. I hope to return for a future visit.
The view and grounds of Monteverde are unique and absolutely breathtaking. However I was disappointed by the management. Booked 2 nights and they claimed I had only booked 1I was accommodated to a different room. However the very next day a tour bus of over 60 high schoolers run out and we find out that they are staying there for a few days. While they were there the kitchen and certain tours were closed to the other people staying there. This ruined the tranquility of the property as we had to listen to loud high schoolers all night. We were never told this during check in and we were never able to relax and enjoy the beautiful property for that time we were there.
The tranquility of Monteverde Inn caught me off guard. After having driven down the busy roads of the town that lead to the property, it was a pleasant surprise to find this hotel in comparative remoteness, overlooking a gorgeous valley. The lunch offered by the small cafe was wonderful, facilities appeared to be well taken care of, and the private trails offer so much more than I could've imagined. The only negative during my entire stay was the bed. The mattress was thin and lumpy, which led to tossing and turning all night. By morning, my lower back was sore and my shoulders/neck muscles were incredibly tender.
Modern yet rustic facilities. Amazing view of Pacific and forest. Rooms are basic. Shower was clogged and filled up with water after single shower. Friendly people that were helpful with info about area. Cool night hike. Good breakfast offering.
amazing view on the ocean. restaurant has some good firewood pizzas. staff is very welcoming and very helpful. room and breakfast are average. Excellent value for the price. highly recommend especially if you are travelling with children.
Food is great with nice prices. The location is perfect. Nive views, quiet and safe place.
Breakfast is great, view is spectacular. Rooms are clean, functional and good value.
Fantastic place with the most beautiful sunset, next to a private wildlife reserve. Spacious rooms with design bathroom and excellent breakfast. Unforgettable New Year's Eve thanks to owner Jonah, his friends and a boatload of percussion instruments. We'll return some day! Thanks Jonah!
A great mountain retreat with great views and lots to explore. The rooms are sparse, but you're not going to Monteverde to sit in your room. The on-site trails are a really nice bonus. If your legs are up for it, I highly recommend hiking down to the waterfall. It's fairly secluded, and you feel like you're in your own little world.
