Very nice location with friendly staff.
We actually saw a leatherback turtle laying eggs, what an experience.
Only point of improvement for us was the buffet, could have a bit more variety.response / report this review -

Located close to the village of Tourtuguero, this lodge has wonderful food, access to many opportunities, and very friendly staff. The tour guides are knowledgeable and fun to be around. Rooms are very nice, clean, and there are multiple pools as well as access to the ocean. Would love to go again.

I loved it here. Lovely grounds, great restaurant with good choice of buffet style food and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are quite basic but you come for the location and the experience. Nice to sit in the rocking chairs and watch the birds. There are red eyed tree frogs in the gardens. Great place.

No frills room (no AC, TV) with basic bed and shower room. Interesting location where lodge is in between river and beach. Beach is unswimmable due to strong riptides but it is nice to spot turtles if u r lucky. All inclusive food is good but lots of flies around the fruits . The 2 pools and are nice and the surrounding landscape attracts quite a nice variety of wildlife - iguanas, toucan, hummingbirds + a variety of birds. Cool place but such a long trip to get there from anywhere.

It was really nice the people they are very friendly. We were able to watch two baby turtles being hatched and make their way to the beach we went out on the boats looking at wildlife was a lot of fun would love to do that again

We had a great time here! It was the off-season, so a little cooler and much less crowded than a hotel in the high-season. For a buffet, the food was great. Plenty of options, and great juice and coffee. The beer was definitely expensive- we found it to be worth taking a boat into town to enjoy some cheaper way beer in our room. But the grounds were lovely, the beach and turtles can't be missed, and it was a lovely place to visit. Highly recommend sunrise wildlife boat tours, the howler monkeys and birds were phenomenal.

Reached only by boat and located in the midst of coastal rainforest, this is a great place from which to explore the national park. Accommodation is in rustic cabins devoid of air conditioning and TV, with traditional gauze windows.
The grounds have native plants and trees and wildlife is close at hand. Two swimming pools allow the chance to cool off.
In the grounds we have seen raccoons, iguanas, bats, lizards a brilliant place.response / report this review -

The hotel is is a great location if your interested in exploring the beaches to see turtles. The food is pretty good for buffet style, but man do the gauge you on beer, snacks, etc. I live in Costa Rica and am use to tourist prices at many resorts and hotels, but there is no reason a beer should cost me 4.50 USD here. I suggest just BYOB or take the water taxi into town for any extras you might want.
The family pool is amazing here. We brought our 1 & 3 yo and is just the perfect place to let them wear themselves down. The beach is a short walk thru the resort and all of the staff have been friendly and willing to help.
If you can't sleep in places without A/C in these parts you may wanna reconsider. My room had on table fan mounted to the ceiling for comfort. It worked ok, but would have been nice to have a second fan. All windows had screens so no worries on bugs.response / report this review -

Sadly this resort's lights illuminate the beach. This beach is critical for sea turtle nesting. Lighting toward this beach is not acceptable.

Not the best spot to start a Costa Rica adventure. You do get some peace and relaxation but you might not sleep. The bungalows have 1 little fan. The walls are thin. There is so many more problems that I would give zero stars but the food was good. Supposedly it was there off season but if things are like this now I can't see it any better "in the busy season".

Beautiful property, great people and outstanding tours! My sister and I stayed for 3 days and had a wonderful experience. From the tours of the waterways, the wildlife and the baby turtles, everything was perfect. Thank you for everything!

I went in June, 2016..OK first off, you must realize you are in a national park that has zero cars and everyone gets around by boat. It takes 45 minutes from when your bus/shuttle drops you off to get to this resort by boat. So you are literally in the rain forest and right next to the ocean. Thus it is hot and humid. Very humid!!! The rooms have screens on all the windows and the bathroom and shower are decent. No bugs in the room. Also no air-conditioning only a fan major drawback but very typical out here. Jump in the shower to cool off with cold water or jump in the two beautiful swimming pools they have. The service was a 10--Danny was our tour guide and did an outstanding job throughout the three day stay-- he went on every tour with us and spoke English perfectly. Each meal that everyone has to pay for is buffet style--very great options and very delicious..water is ok to drink and they serve with ice.. The tours from kayaking, to canal trips, to going to the little town they have (1,700 people live here) incredible experience once in a lifetime. Everything was great, I would've loved to have air-conditioning in my room.
