We enjoyed a wonderful experience at La Anita Rainforest Ranch. Pablo gave a meaningful CaCao tour which taught us many things we did not know about this lovely plant. The Heart of Palm he prepared with his machete was so delicious. His staff prepare wonderful meals and are delightful people. We recommend a stay at La Anita Rainforest Ranch without reservation and would not hesitate to return.
My boyfriend and I went for a 6-day vacation to Costa Rica in February and stayed at the La Anita Ranch for the first few days of our trip. It was SO beautiful! The cabins were very cute, and the view from our porch was amazing. Note: there is no AC in the cabins, but there was a ceiling fan in our room that kept our cabin at a pleasant temperature the whole time.
If you rent a car, definitely rent an SUV with good tires. The roads are unpaved and filled with large rocks and potholes along the way from the airport. It took us about 2.5 hours to drive from Liberia to the ranch in our Nissan Versatrust me, everyone should rent an SUV!
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast/lunch/and dinners at the ranch, as well. The meals were promptly served at a specific time every day, and they even made us a boxed lunch to take on our hike with us one day, which was perfect!
For the price, you cannot beat these accommodations. It was very private, and with only 10 cabins on the property, it was very quiet and peacefulthe perfect start to our stay in Costa! If you are looking for something off-the-beaten path, and something a little more rustic, I would highly recommend checking out the La Anita Rainforest Ranch. The majority of the other guests were couples, too.
We cannot thank Pablo and Ana enough for their hospitality AND generosity. We ended up having to stay in another town our last night, and they drove our belongings to us, which was pretty unbelievable :)
Thank you for such an amazing stay!
What a wonderful location!!! A little heaven managed by Pablo. Do the chocolate tour. This is a real one driven by Pablo who will share his passion and innovative methods. Definitely a recommended place.
Fantastic lodge for all interested in nature and wildlife, real cacao and coffee. Arriving at La Anita is the first adventure. The road is great for all who want to know why one needs an SUV. This is the real place for 4x4 and SUV especially when you are planning to visit the National Parks close by. In the middle of the rainforest La Anita offers a perfect place to stay and enjoy nature. An open spaced restaurant area, own bungalows with nice terrace, rocking chair and hammock. Pablo and Ana are very friendly and you will feel like at home. They will definitely provide you with valuable hints for your trips. And do not miss to do the cacao-tour! You will not regret it. Muchas gracias por el buen tiempo!
Extremely perfect!!! The best place in Costa Rica Pablo and Ana are amazing people, very passionate, and with a spectacular project and product We've been there 4times already and always want to stay longer.
Outstanding quality of Choklat 72% and 82% from the best Chiorro plant. Nice cabines for guesthouse.
My family had the best time at this place. We stayed for about a week. The owners really took the time to get to know us and they gave us personal tours of the property. They helped us arrange local excursions to the amazing thermal hot spots in the area and they provided amazing food for breakfast and dinner each day. They even arranged for us to visit a local farm and make cheese from fresh cow's milk. They made us feel like we were their top priority. The accommodations were the nicest of our entire trip. We had a private hacienda with a wonderful covered porch with hammock in addition to a nice private bathroom and shower. A+
Great visit, Pablo (the owner) excellent host. Incredible organic cocoa tour and products. Cabins clean and nice.
I've stayed for 2 weeks and all i can say is WOW. Amazing scenery from all the rooms. Very pleasant and polite staff. Amazing food! some of the best I've ever eaten. Pablo (Owner of La Anita) is the kindest man I've ever met till this day. He will go out of his way for any reason necessary to make sure your stay is absolutely perfect. HIGHLY.. HIGHLY.. recommended.
I stayed here for a week in the summer of 2015. The area is safe and beautiful. I could see mountains from my shower and horses grazing from my front porch. It was paradise. The food was amazing, as was the chocolate tour. I loved exploring their several small trails on the property. I did the horseback riding experience that they offer and I highly recommend it. It isn't very often you get to ride a horse up the side of a volcano and overlook an entire city below. Customer service was very good.
