I don´t know if any of the other reviewers who have written such glowing words about this place realize, or care, that Villa Verde is one horrible neighbour. I have been in Monteverde for the past month staying with friends nearby, and two or three times a week we have been serenaded by the most godawful pounding disco music. I have sent several emails to the place and only with a lot of diligence has the manager tried to remedy the situation. One night I walked over there and talked to the owner about the noise. He was rude, hostile and threatening. Please, visitors to Monteverde, there are far better options than Villa Verde. Try to consider the impact your hotel is having on the community before you make your decision.

This place reminds me of a Swiss Chalet in the mountains but without the snow and double the wind! E.g. wood cabins. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Not too far from the town centre only a 5-10 minutes in a taxi. Has great hot showers too. Though the beds were a little too firm and hard. Overall great place 8/10 ;-)

Beautiful place, and amazing staff. The only complaint is that there were a few mosquitoes in the room at night.

Knowledgeable friendly staff, clean, basic rooms available to accommodate larger parties, best prices, off the path but close enough to all things Monteverde.
