Great food and view with quick access to Sandy Beach. Also perfect for sunset time! Most staff are very kind & friendlyexcept one. She provides service, but certainly not with a smile and barely any acknowledgement. That was a deterent for me after going twice. I only visited the bar and restaurant, but stayed elsewhere.

The bungalow I stayed in was beautiful and spacious, with air conditioning, one large bed and two small. Bath towels were provided, and there were two sinks in the bathroom. There were hammocks outside to lay in, as well as chairs and a table. The pool was beautiful. The beach is very easily accessible, maybe a two minute walk from our room. The restaurant was awesome and drinks were great. If you need anything outside the hotel, it's a minimum 15 minute walk. There are no ATMS - the next closest is in Tamarindo (min 30 minute drive). All in all, this hotel was beautiful. I would stay again.

Great location, beautiful scenery, and amazing rooms. Not near any main destinations. A citronella candle or two at night would be nice. Also no ATM's within 45min drive.

Its a bad place to be! The manager wanted to hit our face because we where complaining about the food. On saturdays they have a"bbq" so we went there to enjoy. They offered us a menu for four people, we asked if it was enough and they told us its more then enough for the four of us. After we ate the 5 little peaces of meat, and the leaves of lettuce, we asked if this was everything. They said we should order another dish and we asked for the manager. He would be back tomorow they said. So we where not happy still. Then.suddely the guy at the table next to us was the manager and he told us we had to stop complain and just order another plate. We kindly asked him a few times to give us something to eat because we where soo hungry, but the answer was no, and he laughed at us again. We paid the 90$ dollars and thanked him for his wonderfull service(NOT) and then he came after us and wanted to fight, hus friends wich he was drinking with, and was finishing all the meat from te barbeque, which was supposed to be on our plates, cane after us and tried to fight. We laughed because we are all 2 meters long and they headed back because the where scared. The most sad part is that the bbq was FULLLL OF MEAT and there where NO PAYING GUESTS accept us 4 and maybe 6 others. He was really prottective about the free meat for his friends and didnt care for his client. Luckely there is another restaurant in this village, where we could get a pizza to still our hunger. A expensive night for bad food and rude manours! Wwooww

I did not book a stay at the hotel but I did enjoy their restaurant while on a daytrip at the playa negra beach. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was pretty good (ceviche) but a bit pricey which is to be expected at a hotel. It looked clean and the pool (for guests only) looked very inviting. We even saw wild horses walking around!

If you are looking for a place with no a/c you love bugs, worms, and ants. This is deffinently the place for you. Every night we had bugs falling from the ceiling, birds pooping on our jeads, and ants/bugs all over the floor. The spiders are huge. Not to mention that the sheets had black mold on them
Check in was horrible. I called when my flight landed to tell them we had just arrived being that last check in is 10pm and my flight landed close to 8. I wasn't sure how long it would take to get the rental car and our bags. The guy told me they had already left for the day and I would have to come back in the morning at 7am. I told him that was unacceptable and he had to finger something out see that it wasn't even 10 yet. He told me that he would make sure that the security guard had all my things and I could be checked in by him. I pulled up at 922pm and the gate was closed. I called and called and called but no answer. I decided to call expidia and cancel my arrangements and get a new place to stay but to wait time was 50 mins. After waiting almost 2 hours at the gate the security walks around the front and let's me in.
Now don't get me wrong if you are looking for a nature type of experience you should stay here. It's right off the beach, no tv, and all the animals will come to visit you. It actually would have been a great place to stay of the bugs wouldn't have been dropping on our heads every night. It's bungalow style living. Surfers love this place. They have yoga in the morning. Food at the resterunt is awesome.

First bad food I've had in C.R. this trip ! Not sure what this is, but I ordered Pad Thai and got linguini they inisisted that this was what Pad Thai is supposed to look like not like the 20 or so times I've ordered it before, it makes me kind of sad for the price. View was nice though get a drink here, but don't waste your money on the Pad Thai (edit: my kids said they liked their food and breakfast was o.k. this morningadding two stars)

Only came for the restaurant. Friendly staff, English-speaking. Well situated. Great views. Food was fantastic. Pricier than a typical place, but you have to expect that with it being at a hotel.

Might easily be the 'best' hotel in Costa Rica. If you're like me, sick of going to this huge hotels filled with screaming kids and people looking to sleep and watch Tv; Then this might also be the perfect place for you. The amenities offered vary from 2 types of rooms:
A) Those closest to the pool and beach which are the simpler kind: bed, bath, ceiling fan and 2 chairs from where to watch the sunset.
B) And the other kind, a bit farther from the beach and pool area. These have air conditioning and a bigger terrace area.
The hotel is small and cozy. Perfect for people looking for things to do. Most days the beach is filled with surfers. But dont worry, a few hundred meters away, walking on the beach and you'll find a quieter calmer beach. Perfect for kids and just relaxing.
The restaurant is great. Good prices and delicious food.
Overall a great experience. One i repeat every few months.response / report this review
