This is for the restaurant only, not the lodging. Prices are similar to Aquasport. Cuisine is home-style. We enjoyed the simple and straight forward meals. Restaurant staff are also covering the bar and reception so get busy at times. For the price, Aquasport is better.

Had a great time at El Velero! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and The food great. We especially enjoyed grill night and Taco Tues. The beach is literally steps from the hotel. You can hear the surf crashing at night. You can swim, body surf, catch a boat right off the shore for snorkeling, fishing, tubing or just relax by the pool or have a sea side massage. Def recommend this place.

Calm, nice hotel right on the beach!
Friendly and helpful staff and a nice restaurant serving different kind of food, everyone can find something enjoyable.
We can really recommend this hotel!
Who wouldn't want to wake up to the sound of the ocean and also the sight of it?

Had dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel, did not rent a room, so I cannot provide insight on that. The night we visited, the place was packed with 2 groups of around 30 people each. As far as I could tell, only 3 waiters were on shift. So the service was slow.. but they were working HARD. Waiters were hustling and doing the best they could. It was BBQ night, so I ordered the pork ribs. They weren’t the best, but one piece, the meat could have fallen right off the bone it was so tender. The place is located right off the beach and it was good enough to merit a recommended visit. Check it out, doubt you would be disappointed.

This is the second time we have stayed here and have totally enjoyed our stay!! There aren't many places to stay that are truly on the beach. The staff is great, the food is good, all around great place to stay!!

Dirty. Owners fake. Rooms smell funny. The pics are not acurate . Taken before all these burgerler bars installed around the place. Food sucks. Not authentic. Americanized. Like lunch tray food. Pools worthless. Floors are slippery as hell. Trash stays out fromt more than a week. Start to smell it. Drinks overpriced. I had more fun across the street at pescado loco. Where the drinks ROCK AND THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! LOVE THE MUSIC;)

My 1/2017 stay was amazing! The room was clean, well-appointed; the staff was friendly, helpful, solicitous & accommodating. The food was top drawer (we were lucky enough to be there for the beach barbecue) & enjoyed both dinner & breakfast. Furthermore, the coffee was truly the best coffee I have ever had; thoroughly recommend.

I picked this hotel because it was on a beautiful beach called Hermosa Beach and it was reasonably priced. The view was amazing but the room was dirty and there was mold in the shower. The hotel needs serious updating and the food wasn't all that great in the restaurant either. There are many hotels around it that I would choose From next time.
