Good location from the center as can walk in 15-20 minutes. Also nice rooms with big bathroom and hot water. Some rooms also have a little garden.
The hotel is located in a very nice area. For example, there is a street just 5 minutes away that is full of nice bars and restaurants, and in another direction 5-10 minutes away you can find some artistic shops.
The location is quite far from main street (25 minutes walk). Some of the staff is not friendly. You should be able to find cheaper hotel closer to maim street and perhaps better service.
Boutique hotel. Average. Poor breakfast
San Jose, Costa Rica
Very quaint little place that was not very expensive. It was once a large home, but converted to a small BnB style hotel.
Walking distanced to San Jose city centre. Room was spacious, clean and the staff very friendly. Would stay here again
Poor location. Awful food. Poor setvice at breakfast. Building site next door
they act like its something special and expensive and wealthy to sleep here but the water is cold, the walls were too thin so we could hear every single word from everyone in the hotel and the lock at the front gate is broken
The staff was so friendly and kind, and they gave us great directions to sites around the city. They gave us welcome drinks and we were able to sit in their courtyard that is beautifully landscaped. Our room was beautifully simple with comfortable accommodations and a bathroom worth writing home about! We ate two meals at their restaurant and enjoyed them both thoroughly!
The lunch sets are an interesting option to try.
A la carte menu won't disappoint and try their natural beverages.
Not as expensive as it could be, but still pricey.
I have been a regular client of Hotel Le Bergerac in San Pedro, Costa Rica since 2007. I loved it there and the staff has been like an extended family. It is accessible to Mall, church, food, grocery etc. A very serene and safe place to stay. I recommend it. In fact I am on my way back to Costa Rica this month and definitely be staying there.
