Great location, great room, great staff. Hotel Aranjuez is a perfect hotel for your transit through San José (let's face it, that's what people are doing). Open late, safe, with a worldly, multilingual staff, good beds and decent showers, and a massive buffet breakfast in the garden to boot. Sure, it's a bit noisy in the morning, as people are up and about and travelling somewhere, and it's located in an old series of connected homes with lots of windows and common spaces. But the place has character, is in a great neighbourhood within walking distance of everything you need, and, again, the staff is super helpful and very friendly. I will definitely be back!

Hotel Aranjuez was a very pleasant experience. I was there during Good Friday so I cannot comment on the location as everything was closed, but the hotel itself is very well decorated and maintained. A hotel stay comes with a free breakfast buffet, which is very top notch.

We arrived at 330 pm and our room wasn't ready for 25 more minutes. The room was a small suite for 100 bucks and pretty nice but NO AC and the bathroom smelled like body odor. Big t.v. and comfy bed. No pool is a minus. Also really hard to find with our GPS from rental car.

What a wonderful place! The Aranjuez is a jewel of a find; consisting of 5 homes that were connected by unique passages and overhead canopies, it displays works by local artists that make this magical place as lovely as most art museums! I would stay there again without hesitation!

Our "go to" place when we visit Costa Rica. The staff are very friendly and professional, and the hotel is adorable and comfortable, but the breakfast is hands down the best part. They offer a buffet of diverse and delicious offerings including cereals, breads, pancakes, eggs-to-order, and the traditional gallo pinto.

A great Eco hotel with the normal amenities and located just slightly away from the busy parts of San Jose. Great service, friendly and accommodating staff and a beautiful hotel. Stay here!!

We got such a nice room here! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area, even if it is just for one night. Also the breakfast in the morning was phenomenal!!

My favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica! Very cool architecture -- looks like several buildings were connected to make this hotel. Complimentary breakfast is a big spread, and it is all delicious! Super friendly staff. Love this place!

Best place to stay in San Jose. Convenient to walk to all attractions and shops. The breakfast buffet is legendary. Very good value. Moderately priced. Staff is pleasant and helpful. I stayed in the new annex and loved it.
