Well kept hotel with an awesome view of the area. Keep in mind you have to use a shuttle to go from area to area. Our shower gel was missing but the breakfast was very good.

One the best hotels in Monteverde. Very large rooms with views of the gulf and peninsula. They have a lookout tower at the top of their property to view great sunsets.

Bring a headlamp if you are planning on reading after dark. Can be noisy with and echo. Found a large black scorpion in our room at night. They charged extra for more than two coffee pods. $20 per person to use Jacuzzi. Will run out of hot water before enormous bathtub fills.

Pretty fancy place. Very well built. Unique design. No air conditioning but the place is so well designed that it is not needed. Restaurant is really good, but expensive. Great sunset views.

The hotel was lovely, the view was great. There was wildlife right outside our rooms. Breakfast was excellent and staff were helpful and courteous.

This place has great views from the room. Overlooking the city la fortuna. The place is neat and clean. Rooms are spacious. The staff can use some English speaking training but it's ok to get by. The hotel restaurant has breakfast with typical average food. They have shuttle service from room to reception or spa or wherever you want to go so make sure to call in advance and have some time on you hand. It's really 4 star hotel with 3 star service.

This was our favorite stay in Costa Rica. Modern rooms, amazing views, nice pool area, and friendly coati mundis visiting your patio looking for bananas. The restaurant was very overpriced, however. We’d recommend eating someplace else.

Nice old style place with a very large property and everything is very spread out. FYI there is no air conditioning or heat or ironing board or iron. Hotel has great views from Monteverde.

Rooms are very spartan and poorly lit. No fan in room and very little ventilation. Expensive mini bar and laundry service. Hotel is on a steep hill side, with shuttle bus to and from reception. Some of the rooms almost 1km from reception. On plus side food in restaurant is good.

On the plus side:
Room is nice. Breakfast ist great.

Not so good:
Pool and cocktail bar hours till 9 pm. Went at 6 pm, bar closed, very dim lights.

You depend on the shuttle or your car to go anywhere. From room to breakfast is about 1 k steep hill.

No real lounge.
No internet in the rooms.

Lots of great views but anything else will cost you extra!! No heat,.no a.c., no fanstuffy and damp due to the humidity. Love the rainforest but a small fan would make a great difference in the comfort level. Huge heavy doors on all the rooms make for lots of slamming door sounds that bounce off the rock walls! Lots of lights in the hallways keep your room bright alllllll night!!! Half the staff was sort of friendly, the other half,.not so much. $20 breakfast buffet and that is all that's offered! Go across the street to the bakery, great food, wifi, coffees and cheap prices with a big smile.
If you want a great view, this is the place.
If you want a great experience, meh!

Amazing view and location, no AC and super thin walls. We came here with monkey tours and were blown away with the location. It was very nice with an awesome view from the mountain that you can see all the way to the ocean. You have to get shuttled around it is so large, but hiking around can be nice. I saw some wildlife on am early 5:30 hike which was cool. We could hear everything the people next to us did and said though and no AC could be rough on hot days. I suggest doing the night tour as it was great.

Good hotel on a beautiful reserve with some beautiful views and walks. Room very spacious with balcony and great views. Walking distance to town if you don't mind hills. Breakfast buffet is good. Some parts could do with some maintenance but it didn't impact on my stay and I'd still recommend staying.

The rooms had incredible views, the food at the reception area was good, and the hotel was rather inviting. However there is no air conditioning or wireless internet in the rooms, which didn't overly hamper my experience

Worst experience. Spiders and bugs everywhere. My husband and I first arrived awaiting a warm shower and I turn on the shower and it is freezing cold even though it is at the hottest setting. I called to have them check it out and I never heard back from them. We took cold showers our entire stay and to top it off they don't have a jacuzzi or anything heated. So if you enjoy cold swims this place is for you. The rooms are extremely outdated and the beds feel like you're sleeping on a brick. Don't stay here.

Beautiful resort over the mountains with beautiful views. Since the rooms are spread out over the grounds, they offer shuttle services for free. Very friendly and attentive staff, clean rooms, and delicious food.
