My wife and I were staying at El Castillo for one night and liked the hotel so much we decided to extend our stay further, since our room was booked for the next night we were given two options by the GM; one to just move to another room for same price which would only be available for one more night or to upgrade to suite which was available for the next 6 nights and that is what we decided to do. We moved to the suite (beautiful btw) and went on with our day, after dinner that night we just wanted to confirm we have the suite for us for the rest of the week only to be told that it seems not to be 'in the system', GM wasn't around and we were told he will explain everything in the morning. In the morning, after breakfast we were presented with a bill, GM not in sight, no explanation given. The bill also had someone else's dinners on it and a $120 bottle of Malbec we never ordered. While waiting for the bill to be adjusted we scrambled to find another hotel for the rest of our stay in Costa Rica. Rooms are very nice though, service great and Pablo the chef is really good, if you stay here I can vouch for the chefs choice dinner, you won't regret.

Views are amazing. Staff is there to help, answer questions and take care of issues. Hotel offers one of the best restaurants in Ojochal. Their chief Pablo has a gift - this guy cooks you anything and it will be something amazing that you know what it is but you've never had it prepared that way. Property has always remained clean. You're in the jungles, so you'll see a few pets of El Castillo. Several beaches are near by, along with a small national park. There is a super market BM , about 10 minutes from the hotel, you can get anything there.

This a most wonderful place. The views are amazing. The ocean and sunset on one side, the mountains and sunrise on the other. The accomadations are perfect and so harmonious. The dinning experience is 5 star. The staff was fantastic and saw to every detail, amazing. Gerson was unbelievably helpful and choose the perfect excursions for our needs. Gerald is sweet and saw to our every need. An exceptional waiter. We love this place and plan on returning in February.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The hotel is small but luxurious and the owners are so friendly. Breakfast is perfect (not only the food but the view also!)

recently renovated. It is a beautiful place with an amazing view and pool. I love it here. The bartender drinks could be upped a little but no major complaint. Overall an awesome place.
