Such an amazing place!! The food was just spectacular. I could eat there for the rest if my life & be happy. All sorced locally, prepared on site fresh, and traditional dishes made to impress. I would love to go back if we are ever in Costa Rica again!! Lots of things to see & do as well. Fun shops, horses, tractor rides, zip lines through the canopy, and a 1/4 mile water slide through the forest. Only wish wed had more time to do the hanging walkways as well!!

We didn't stay at the resort, but we did go an adventure excursion with them. We went on a 3-hour horseback riding tour to 3 waterfalls. It was beautiful. Just keep in mind that it's really helpful if you are in shape so since it 's not just horseback riding, but also a bit of hiking to get to the waterfalls. It also helps if you speak Spanish. Our guide spoke very little English, but he was very nice.

We had an fantastic time at the Buena Vista Lodge. (June 2017). This place is beautiful located in the middle of the rain forest. A lot of monkeys, birds and butterflies around.
We stayed for two days at the Buena Vista Lodge and did a lot of activities. The zip line and the hanging bridges are fantastic.
The service is very kind and helpful. The food was good, the roams are a little bit dark but okay. We loved every minute of our time there.

This is a luxury lodge as far as I am concerned. The paved roads, impeccable service, well signed trails, and rustic rooms were perfect for our stay. The lodge employs ~60 people and they work very hard. The food was pretty standard and the restaurant prices were about what you pay in the USA at a reasonable hotel. Given the remote nature of this place, I was happy to pay fair prices. The only draw back was several of us were bitten by insects either in our beds or during excursions; This is hardly the hotel's fault.

We did see a lot of tour groups come through from the beaches. They all looked tired from what must be a long day. I don't know why anyone would make a day trip here; You should stay a couple nights, enjoy the view, and do the excursions a la carte for a much better experience.

PLEASE AVOID ANY AND ALL EXCURSIONS HOSTED OR PLANNED BY BUENA VISTA. We traveled 2 hours on an excursion with them on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from DREAMS Costa Rica and saw person after person almost lose their life or get seriously injured. Just within my party of 19 people, we had a few people flip over in the water slide, one of them seriously injuring her head when it smacked up against the concrete slide as she flipped uncontrollably. The worst and most horrible site was the woman who was allowed to move from one platform to the next on the zip line before the person in front of her had been detached properly. They almost collided in midair, but she instead collided into a tree and seriously injured her back and had to be rushed to a local hospital for care. Both she and her 12-year old daughter left the resort absolutely traumatized by the experience. I also witnessed a man from another party come out of the water slide with a bloody mouth and a missing front tooth. He said his experience on the slide was similar to what we witnessed within our party. Our guide was really nice and informative.
However, he claimed that in all of years he had never seen any serious accidents happen during the excursions. I find that hard to believe after witnessing so many of them in such a short period of time. Avoid them if you want your life.

We had a fantastic guide! He was extremely nice and funny-also spoke great English. We had so much fun!! I would highly recommend the mega combo. Best bang for your buck, completely worth it!!

If you think you are going for adventure, don't go. The adventures here are very limited, and quite expensive compared to the same adventures in e.g. Monteverde. The national park (the main reason to go to this area) is a long drive away. If you think you will find friendly, happy personal, don't go. The personnel seems very unhappy to work here and are very non-interested and nonchalant. Food is organic, which is good, but I find it quite expensive. Feels to me like the lodge is taking advantage of its monopoly position - since you can't really go out to eat anywhere else. Lastly, the spa is not a spa - it is a plain swimming pool, not worth the visit. Will not visit again.

I used to work here 13 years ago and to see the changes they've made since then is amazing! It was beautiful here then and even more so now! The people that work here are super nice and inviting. Definitely somewhere to check out on your visit to Costa Rica! Directions here are the same as I used to give people when I was here. Turn up the road towards Cañas Dulces and keep driving, when you think you're lost and you've gone the wrong way drive a little more and you're here. The road ends at the reception

Super organic food. I even found a little slug in my salad and the waiter didn't even bother to apologize. Not his fault but it was absolutely disgusting. The staff is nice but they do not give enough privacy. The food is overpriced and poorly prepared and very small portions like for a 5 year old. Other than that the hot springs and surrounding environment is very nice, but I would not recommend.

Overall was a great day, the day was full of events horseback riding and zip lining along with a hot springs and mud bath the cutural part was lacking a little along with the coffee tour. As a whole great day just wish the water slide wasn't broken that day.

The staff was very nice. But, on the other hand the rooms were gross and ants everywhere. The food was awful and not a good place for children. The activities at the place are beyond amazing so if you don't care where you stay for amazing activites this would be a great place for you.

Had a great time. Only issue was the salesman from the Westin: they said it was only one hour each way, but it was about 2.5 hours each way. The people we went with missed their dinner reservations because of it. We still would have done it, just would have planned better.

Well maintained property of 80 thousand hectares with many trails and activities to do including horse back riding, 7 different zip lines, half a km of water slide down the jungle, volcano mud spa, steam room and hot springs and bar to relax. Morality of service and safety is very good. The place is perfect for a full day of adventures.

Loved our stay here! My husband and daughter and I stayed 2 nights here and we had a fabulous time! We came during the rainy season, so the pool and hot tub was chilly, so we didnt swim, but all the other activities are AWESOME!! Its a one stop all adventure place guaranteed to have fun! Staff is friendly, food is ok. Drinks are expensive and there is no A/C in the rooms so be aware of that. But all in all it was great!!
