Really loved this place! The room wasn’t the best, quite outdated but it was very clean! All the staff were lovely and the food and drinks were absolutely great! At night the restaurant area had such a cool vibe, absolutely loved it and would definitely go back again just for the cocktails which were amazing!

This place was fantastic. Relaxing, good price, nice pool, nice rooms, beds, and showers. Staff was great. My only minor complaint is the ladders for the upper bunks weren't that good and made a lot of noise.

Best place to stay! Great location, super good vibes, really good food. Absolutely stellar view onto the volcano. They have a whole area with different hammocks where you can hang out. Nice pool. Hot water, lockers in the dorms.

Awesome hostel, it’s safe and gated, there’s a pool, a bar and restaurant, a large open lounge area. Clean! They give you a towel. It’s great. The pool is nice and refreshing and there are slack lines to have fun with! Not to mention the prices are so good for what you receive.

Great place to stay if you’re on a budget. Staff are super helpful and the pool is so nice. Stayed in a private room and it was great I heard the shared rooms aren’t bad. The mattress isn’t the best but you pay for what you get. Clean and surprisingly quiet at night. The bar across the street doesn’t blast loud music anymore I guess (according to the other reviews). Food is great and cheap just wish the bar stayed open past 10pm

The front common area is great for relaxing since the rooms are a little bare. The happy hour is great at night to start the night. The breakfast burritos in the morning were amazing too..the staff is VERY friendly

This is a review of the mixed dorm bunk bed. Overall good experience.

The facility is safe, only hostel guest can enter the place.

Room was clean and they changed the linen daily. The restroom was clean and adequate. Bed and pillow was average. They have a metal box in each room that you can store your items if you bring your own locks. Air conditioner runs between 10 pm and 6 am. The only drawback was that the electrical plugs were located in one corner of the room, which makes it a bit of a hassle.

WiFi was good but goes in and out sometimes.

I recommend the two volcanoes tour with Franklin, which was super fun.

We booked a private room with private bath online and prepaid, but when we got there they told us they didn't have or reservation. I showed them the confirmation email, then they told me they were sorry but they overbooked and the room was not available. We ended up in a different room with a shared bathroom. The bar across the street played extremely loud music and talked into a megaphone until 2am. We could hear all of it in our room. Very frustrating. The pool looked nice though.

This resort is beautiful and private. The private rooms are very standard but clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The main area serves food and drinks (I didn’t eat or drink there). This is a prime location to view the Arenal Volcano. I would stay here again.
    Staff: 5/5
    Private room: 4/5
    Atmosphere: 4/5

For a “5 star hostel” there isn’t a lot included. There is not a common kitchen and the food isn’t exactly the cheapest but not overly expensive. I have never been to a hostel where fresh towels aren’t included; You have to pay $10 for a towel. The facilities are nice and everything was clean but expected more stuff to be included. Also the bar across the street BLASTS their music real loud which is annoying when you are staying in the safari tents.

Unless you don’t like to sleep, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There’s music playing until 1am or later. I don’t mind it during the day, but is it really necessary so late at night? This place is right next to an animal reserve, too, and I feel like the loud noise is really disturbing for the wildlife. There’s not a kitchenette or anywhere for you to cook. I would recommend going into town rather than buying the food at this hostel. It’s not bad, but it is definitely more expensive than it should be.

There’s one AWESOME staff member lady who helps you book tours. She’s rad. 5 stars for her.

This place is located a short drive from Arenal national park and there are a lot of good places near here to eat. But if you want to eat at here the food is pretty good, breakfast wasn't included but we still got it here. Very good drinks. The room was clean and had a nice view. Only down side was that it is fairly loud past the noise curfew time.

Backpackers paradise. Nice, basic rooms. Pool with swim up bar, big hangout space, hammocks, and grassy soccer area. Downside- located at the end of town. Great place to spend a few nights in La Fortuna!

This is a wonderful place to stay in La Fortuna! The hotel grounds are lovely and enjoyable. The best part of this place are the friendly and helpful people! Specifically Caesar and Maria Jose from the bar/restaurant are just two of the finest people you could ever meet! The drinks were awesome, the food delicious and the atmosphere amazing. We would go back here just because of Caesar, Maria Jose and of course Isabella also but just call her Chaka Rita!!!

Our stay was as expected for a hostel. Room was small but offered a bed and bathroom with shower. A few ants were in the bathroom but that's expected staying within a rainforest/jungle. The room had AC and the bed was comfy.

The towels were a bit discolored and not very enticing to use, but we traveled with our own towels that we used. The hostel has a pool, bar and a restaurant.

Pretty much everything you need in one place! It's a hostel - so don't expect 5 star accommodations! Staff is friendly and the grounds are kept tidy.

I had a nice experience. The only reason I don't give a 5 stars is because they didn't have towels, not even for sale

Clueless staff, terrible policies and too expensive for what it is! Booked this hostel in advance for 4 people. One of our friends wasn't able to come and had to pull out. We canceled his reservation with just under 72 hours notice. Under the hostels policy we should only pay for the first night of accommodation if you cancel 48 hours before arrival. On arrival however the hostel wouldn't allow us entry unless we paid for our friends total 3 night stay. The pool was under maintenance for our whole stay, and for some strange reason they were using the common area as a workshop enjoyed having lunch and breakfast to the sound of an angle grinder. If you want to pay for activities through the hostel with card you're charged a 10% surcharge

I really liked the hostel. Excellent food, good location, friendly staff. Got a private room, it was too far from the WiFi. A bit annoying but still not a deal breaker. Common area is great, met a lot of cool people. Pool is nice. You got a volleyball net and a jungle gym as well.

The hostel is getting renovated at the moment. They could have kept the welding and steel cutting to a minimum in the morning, but they started up right around 06. Many guests were unhappy with that.

    Would still stay there again.

A few minutes further away from the town centre compared to other hostels, but very relaxing atmosphere with a pool and hammocks. Good security. Each person gets a key card and there are a few fcfs lockers in the mixed dorm rooms. The guys at the reception are not very friendly and they refused to fix our clogged toilet saying that it was too late at night (it was 6-7pm!). Breakfast costs $6 and it's pretty filling.

Very comfortable place to relax. It feels like a little oasis inside. I really enjoyed waking up and watching some birds build nests while sitting in a hammock. It also feels very secure (fenced in with a gate)

Stayed in the tents. Tent cool. Mattress was terrible (cannot stress enough). The ground is more comfortable. Should have stayed in the dorm. Staff was cool and the people staying there were lively. Easy to meet people.

Really cool vibe and great staff in an absolute gorgeous setting. They have great common area inside and out with pools and Lounge chairs. The people who visit are open to meeting others and the staff will book you for trips so you don't have to fumble and guess to do this beforehand. Note that there is very little warm water so keep your showers short. This hostel is near to the famous hot water springs and a number of other well known restaurants. I am still friends with people who I met here! This is highly recommended!
