Please don’t go to this restaurant. Service was extremely bad, the servers seemed to have attitudes - I asked for the bill 3 times and was flatly ignored. In the end I just left cash on the table. Food was mediocre, fish was somewhat moist but the steak was well done.

My wife and I decided to visit Casa del Socorro after it was recommended. It was my 4th restaurants on our visit to Cartagena. I read the reviews and decided to give a shot since is was mixed reviews. The food was not as good as others restaurants in the area. I order the seafood stew and I swear I can make a better one at home. What got me upset was the service. Horrible to say the least. The server seems to have an attitude and that's very uncommon. From all the others restaurant we visit, we were amazed on the kind and friendly attention towards the customer, but not here. Take my advise, eat somewhere else.

Good portions, okay prices, if you are a seafood lover you may need to keep looking, however they have a cool atmosphere, nice staff and they’re conveniently located if you are on that side of town.

The food is really good even if you don't like fish or seafood (we had an excellent grilled chicken filet). But there's not much choice for vegetarians. Also the ambiente was really nice.

This was the best food I’ve had in Cartagena . The appetizer (fish soup) is amazing . I order the lobster soup packed with rich flavors and chunks of lobster.
The seafood coconut rice is slightly different than the traditional coconut rice, but certainly a must have !response / report this review -

Total ripoff and worst service ever. The place looks nice but the food is just average and not worth what you pay for, as you dont get what you pay for. Sea bass actually was cheap pangasius fish, the tsunami entrance was small and didn't have langostinos so not worth the price and the cazuelo tasted like canned and only had some shelves inside and no fish at all. Besides we had to wait too long to be served. Also side dishes came when it was almost over. The cashier Carolina de la Rosa probably is the worst manager ever. Instead of saying sorry, she was mad at us and her staff. She threathened her waiter in public to deduct losses from his salary and she went to the kitchen to humiliate everyone. Who would like to work for this nasty person. A simple sorry would have been enough for us. We just didnt pay the tip as we didnt want the waiter to be punished by her. A shame for Cartagena, but on the other hand it fits right in how the Costeños deal with tourists

Best value in Cartagena for the quality of the food. Located outside of the wall. It gets packed quickly so expect a wait during peak times.

Popular with locals, this restaurant is bustling during lunch and dinner. Good seafood dishes, the soups and casseroles are a specialty. The Red Snapper soup (Sancocho) is pretty amazing. A whole snapper fried just right and then covered in this beautiful broth. YUM! The casseroles are served in about the size of a typical soup bowl. Selection from fish to squid. Squid casserole was a little "fishy" and thought it could be improved.
Service can seem a little disorganized and slow at times but the staff are really nice and friendly.response / report this review -

Nice restaurant, food is superb, they could improve service though. I recommend this restaurant based in three factors the quality and the quantity of the food and finally price which altogether combined leave it above average. If I am back in Cartagena definitely I will come back to this restaurant

The food was subpar for the price (over cooked in some places and bland in others), there are much better local places in the area that are not tourist traps like this place is. Service is fine, it's not the United States everyone else complaining about it, the expectations are different.
