Positives: Beds are comfy, nice courtyard, safe location. Room was clean. No water leaks and automatic lights in common areas.
Negatives: Bathrooms are dirty, one is missing a toilet seat, its very noisy in that area on weekends, but also the hostal itself is super noisy. We heard every word from the common room at night. The doors are super noisy, as are the floors. We could hear people using the restroom from down the hallway at night. Cheap breakfast using all disposable plates, cups, and silverware.
Summary: Hostal has potential, but the owners seem cheap and cut corners. Great for partyers. Advice to the owners, put the money into quieting the doors to bedrooms, treat your workers better, and stop using disposable platewear.response / report this review -

O preço era bom. O staff era gente boa. Porém os banheiros apresentavam problemas. A localização é muito boa e o preço melhor ainda. Tinha muitas escadas e não tem um clima gostoso

These people will try to scam you! We made our reservation at one price, and they tried to charge us more when we checked in. We had proof of the price we had reserved it at, so they agreed to honor that (although they did NOT include the deposit in that price). Then, when we went to check out in the morning, they told us we owed literally double what we had paid because the hostal's totally made up exchange rate had changed overnight. They also effectively charge you for showers by not offering towels other than "disposable" towels. Noisy neighborhood. Only one bathroom shared among many people--not even a sink I could use to brush my teeth. Plus, someone at the desk has to buzz you out so we were trapped in the hostel until we paid what they claimed they were owed. All of this in spite of written evidence of the price at which we made our reservation. Totally exploited the fact that we had a bus and a plane to catch. If it weren't for all of the made up exchange rate bullshit, it might have deserved two or three stars. Really nothing special.

Sufrí el famoso "paquete chileno" en este hostal. Pagué varias noches por adelantado en la hab sólo de mujeres y metieron a hombres porque no tenían otras habitaciones libres. No me ofrecen ni cambio ni compensación. A las 9pm me enteré de los nuevos compañeros de cuarto y no puedo irme a buscar otro hostal a esta hora y con el equipaje qie tengo. Muy mala imagen del servicio chileno, bien lamentable. Sólo hay 3 baños para todos los huéspedes y fallan el WC y el calefont. El desayuno es todos los días lo mismo, y ya llevo 1 semana acá.

Nice bed and ok breakfast, no kitchen to cook food, well kept bathrooms, clean.
