I stayed in the Depéndance dell'Angelo (same hotel, separate building). I enjoyed my stay solely for the location of the hotel. It had friendly, helpful staff and was in the centre of Locarno, Switzerland. However, the single room I was in was TINY and wedged between the shared bathroom and WC, and my pillow was very flat and uncomfortable. Breakfast was a little lack-lustre for 12CH (£9) and was a cold buffet of toast, croissants, ham, a selection of jams, cereal and juice. I would only return to the Depéndance hotel if I was on a very tight budget.

Great location although a little noisy at night but it is in the Piazza. Breakfast really great, friendy staff and the apartment we had across the way was spacious and comfortable. Check in staff were not very informative and engaging though. Overall a great choice and excellent price.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in for years. Food was horrific, as we were on half board I thing we got the slops. Second meal was inedible so we ate out after that. Pokey room only one power socket, no table, only good point was Antonio the bubbly waiter. Should have stayed in ascona which is much nicer.

Very attractive hotel with its central location a key benefit. Car parking free but not that close which was a bit of a pain with little kids. Offering one room with 5 beds was excellent though. The lack of air con in the room was tough as opening windows was not really an option early evening to get kids to sleep cos it was still busy and noisy outside. Overall it was ok though.

Great place. Ignore the other reviews saying "shared bathroom", "too noisy" and "poor breakfast"! Not sure where they stayed, but it wasn't on the third floor on Hotel Dell'Angelo!
Context: Early 50s Canadian couple travelling in mid May.
I was worried after booking on Expedia, and then reading two recent reviews regarding shared bathroom. That is *not* the case!. It is an older building and the room was smallish, but that didn't matter, as we were only sleeping there. It is also downtown, on a pedestrian only walkway. You are close to everything, so it would have more "hustle and bustle"
Breakfast was great and satisfying with eggs, meat, fruit, juice and breads. They even had gluten free bread when I asked!
Staff were friendly.
Only *small* complaint was directions from parking lot (by traffic circle) to hotel weren't as clear as I would have liked.

It's not really a hotel but a hostel. Rooms are super small with no bathroom (bathrooms are shared - 1 per floor), while building was rather cold, with only one pillow and no comforter. I would only suggest it if you do not have any other option to stay in the city. Additionally, the hotel was full of teenagers that spent time drinking and being loud in the common areas of the hotel regardless of other customers sleeping. Management was not friendly at all. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

It's chap, it's cold inside, and it has a shared bathroom. Would recommend if you're just need a place to stay fro night. They provide parking for 9Eur for 24 hours, but the parking location is approximately 1 km from the place.

Great location, right next to the Grand Piazza in Locarno. Room was tiny and felt cramped the whole time there. Bed was extra firm and the pillows extra hard. Ton of noise outside the window until about 11pm,then sporadic. The complimentary breakfast was pretty lame, the coffee tasted like Sanka instant. Biggest problem we had was that no-one spoke English or French and we don't speak Italian or German.

Fairly reasonably priced compared to others in area, food was basic but nice and open Sunday evening. Staff were not unpleasant but don't smile much and struggled with language a bit.

The hotel is centrally located in the city, but it is also loud. There are several bars and restaurants nearby, which do not close until late at night meaning it is incredibly loud in the hotel. The breakfast is typical Italian, meaning there is a very limited selection of food. The dinner is quite alright and of average quality. The staff is friendly. I would recommend staying at another location.
