they tried to make the Villa into a modern hotel in a really old building. It doesn't work well. If you plug the lamps into a certain power socket, and press the light switch on the wall, it turns the power off for the whole room. Air conditioner was tiny and seemed to point straight up, and I even heard some rooms don't have an AC unit. We were told breakfast was included, so the next morning I was walking the dog and found out that breakfast was in fact, not included! I cannot even fathom how this dump managed to get 4 stars in 2016!

Nice hotel but a strange situation. The hotel is locked. You need to check in across the street. Good location. Check staff very good. No AC which wasn't a problem but to get any air we had to open the window. The window opened on to a staircase, from which anyone could have snuck into our room since the window sill was very low. But we had no problems.

We got a free upgrade to a suite. Very nice n comfortable room. Only challenge checkin is on opp side of road.

I booked to stay at the Villa but I was moved to the plaza because the villa was full. My room was nice, clean and had a very beautiful view of the lake. The staff were very warm and helpful. The breakfast was great with a huge variety. My overall experience was good, I only have one complaint. On my booking I specifically asked for one bed for me and my partner, unfortunately we were given a room with with two small beds joined together. So in the night one of us often fell in the middle where the two beds joined.

It's a good way to practice fiscal responsibility while in Montreux. It's the minimum one would expect in a hotel.

Traveling with 2 kids, I got upgraded to the main property, hotel royal plaza. It is on the lake with lovely walks around- to the marche and the ferry as well. The food in the restaurant was good and the pool, sauna etc was a lot of fun in the rain drenched evenings. A special mention ought to be made for the helpful staff. All in all, a memorable stay.
