I was at Zara last Friday and I am absolutely shocked at the level of customer service i received. Zara is a busy store I don't expect much from the employees. I was in the change room I had taken 6 items and put one on the rack because the limit is 6. I tried on a few items brought one out to switch for my 7th item. When i came out i had hung the dress and asked the employee to swap for the other item. He looked at me and said "no- you did not hang that properly" I looked at the dress realized it is inside out and said oh sorry. To which employee said "you need to go back and hang it properly." I looked at him and said "are you seriously asking me to go back hang the dress and then swap the item?" He looked at me confused and said fine whatever make sure you hang the other items when you are done. i bought everything except a pair of pants which i did not hang. While i was in the fitting room the employees are laughing and dancing around but cant hang items because all the customers are doing their jobs for them? I went over to the employee asked his name which is VICTOR. I told him it was rude for him to insist i rehang a dress - he said it is the policy and I could speak to a manager who he was confident would say i needed to hang all items correctly in order to shop at zara. I spoke to the zara kids manager who apologized and said this was not policy however she could not do anything as that was not her department. This is 6 days later and I am still pissed off and super upset about my experience. As a retail manager myself if that was my employee he would be written up with HR for sure, totally unacceptable behavior.
I have never heard of a store not answering a phone. at Yorkdale. Apparently, they have had many many complaints at the service desk. I had a coat on hold and was not able to make it and the salesperson at the time said, just call and extend it if you cannot get into to get it. well i called from 5 pm to 7:30 p.m. no one picked up the phone. the manager should be fired.
I love Zara itself however this one is always busy and for some reason never have enough associates. It sucks because you'll find so many pretty things to get but the impossible wait times at the cashier makes you not even want to try.
I tried to return a pair of pants that were in perfect condition, the only problem was that i removed the tags off of them because I intended to keep them, and later changed my mind. Even though I still had the tags, the associate at the cash refused to return them saying it was against store policy, and so did the manager as well (who was very rude and condescending). They even refused giving me store credit as I frequently shop at zara and am a loyal customer. Anyways, I then had to drive all the way to fairview mall to return them at that location, where the manager happily did the return for me. Like get off your high horses people, I work at the bay and we literally will return anything lol. Such an inconvenience.
Not enough staff all the time, long wait at cash, most of the people that work there seem to be in a bitchy/somber combination type of mood. Looking for a positive and friendly environment? You won't be able to find that at this store. They might have good sales and semi decent clothing but friendliness is always the first thing they run out of.
Train your staff to work with a positive attitude and have a separate line for returns/exchange.
It's the customers who mess their store(not the employees),they try to clean up the best they can but it's impossible when certain customers drop items on the floor and don't bother to pick it up (some customers do) and put it back where it goes. There's employees who do have respect, they do have proper communication skills, not everyone who works there is rude, they don't bad mouth, their iPods do work most of the time. You really don't know how hard they work and also there's employees who do actually help.
Absolutly worst customer service. Employees are so rude. Not willing to help at all. ZERO Customer service. I would give zero star if i could. Its understandable that the location is busy but i think they earn enough to acomodate good staff with good customer service skills not monkies like they have now.
Messy store. Not clean at all. Very hard to find size and stuff.
Technologies has never worked in that store. Their ipad or whatever they use to check the stuff in stock has never worked and staff does not even bother to inform you and keep you waiting for no reason.
Their communication skills are ZERO they bad mouth you instead of helping you..
Seriously..this is so bad!! Never coming back. No respect for those people at all!!
Horrible how people treat you like they are above you. Too bad cause I like the clothing but it's like the are looking for the worst costumer service people to work there.
I understand this is a busy location however, they should be staffed accordingly. I live a distance away and and item I found online that was "limited units available". I called in advance and a children's dept rep answered the line and put me on hold for women's. I was on hold for an hour and ten minutes only to be hung up on. There needs to be better procedures in place to handle calls that come in. An hour+ on hold and no one checking in is rediculous.
This location is always busy, 4/5 times the store is so messy it's difficult to find the right size or even items you're looking for from their website. The cashier to customer experience is very poor.
Worst customer service I have experienced. I was in the change room and the blouse I was trying on was too big. I mentioned to the change room attendant that I needed assistance she said she would send someone but no one came. I had to change back into my clothes and go back into the store to get assistance.
I approached what seemed to be a manager about batting a smaller size. She checked the computer and said that there were two smalls in the store and pointed me in the direction of the rack. I told her that I was already over there and they only had mediums. She told me that she would go and look. The location where she and I were speaking was just beside both the cashier and the change room so I shifted my body and stepped back into the changeroom line so that when she brought the shirt, l would not have too long to wait. I watched her to go the rack (she was not hard to spot, she was wearing a bright yellow dress) then go across the store, clean up some racks of clothes, and step into the elevator. She never came back to me.
Since I was waiting for quite some time in line for the change room the attendant asked me to step to the side to allow other people to pass, I told her how unhappy I was about waiting so long, so she asked another girl to check for the shirt, she also went to look and never returned.
I go tired of waiting and left. As I was leaving, I saw both of them standing by the same rack of shirts chatting, I turned to both of them and said I am now tired of waiting and I'm leaving. The manager said to me that they don't have any smalls, I told her that she should have come back and told me that. She said that she couldn't find me. I know she did not because I was standing in the same general vicinity that she left me and she was wearing a bright yellow dress, I would have spotted her if she was anywhere in the vicinity as well.
And why didn't the second person return to tell me they didn't have my size????
Up until now I was a frequent customer of Zara anytime I travelled, which is frequent, I would shop at Zara but Zara New York, Zara UK, Zara Venice, Zara Square One and Zara Eatons Centre, you have now lost my business!!!!!!
This company is absolutely disgusting. They admittedly use child slave labour in Argentina and Brazil to make their clothing.
I received a shirt from here as a Christmas gift and it didn't fit so I went to exchange it 2 months after the original purchase with a gift receipt. They have a strict policy they claim of no exchanges more than thirty days after the purchase. They can't make any exceptions for this but they can make exceptions with following international human rights violations.
The owner of Zara is the second richest man in the world(71 billion) and he got there by using slave labour and now that I learned this I gave the shirt they wouldn't let me exchange to the women and children's shelter.
I have never and will never buy anything or support this company in any way. Company's like this have to boycotted as the abuse of other human beings cannot be tolerated anymore. We need a better world for our children.
Horrible customer service! I don't think one person working there can even crack a smile let alone know how to talk to human beings. Too bad no star isnt an option. Since there grand opening I have been there twice and both times had a horrible experience with the women working within the changing room area. My advice: Hire new people.
It was a couple of years ago but by the looks of things their return policy is still terrible! I tried to exchange a couple of items that werechristmas gifts for my kids and they refused. Items were brand new, never used with tags on. I could not believe the way management handled this. I'm surprised and I haven't returned since. It's a shame because I love their clothes!
