Great food and beer selection. Good prices, smaller but not too small, great for small to medium sized groups. Service is casual but really friendly.

Nice cozy place, great beer selection, atmosphere and service. Can't give 5 stars until they fix the kitchen exhaust - you can tell you've been here because it gets in your clothes.

Great food, good company, very cool atmosphere however the food and menu service took quite a long time adn they were under staffed at 1130 pm on a Saturday.

The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the food was was really good. However my server/bartender was incredibly negligent. She took my drink order and then went back to the register started texting and talking to other people and then came back with my drink 5 minutes later even though all she had to do is grab it out of the fridge. After she brought my drink I tried to stop her but she walked away too fast to get back to her conversation she was having with people at the bar, so I stared at her with my arms folded menu directly in front of me for 10 minutes before she realized that I was trying to order food but her only response was "oh, are you ordering food?" No apology or anything. After I got my food she didn't check on me at all and never told me that I had to pay at the bar and that she wouldn't bring me my check. I took a picture of her texting behind the bar while I was waiting but won't post it unless asked to by management because I do want to protect her privacy, but they seriously need to look into this.

Went to Yellow Dog before the hockey game. The food was good and they have a good selection of beer. Nice Tavern.

friendly staff, food was a little slow to come out, but it was quite busy at the time, and I was in no rush. The nachos were unreal, the best in the city that I've had. Instead of using the generic red and green chips that every restaurant has, they use La Cocina chips, and there wasn't a single chip that wasn't covered in toppings, in fact I ran out of chips to scoop up the toppings with. anyway, great spot, get the nachos (with chili)

As close to a neighborhood bar as you can get but still be in the heart of the downtown. Local craft beers are plentiful and the food is noticeably better than the usual pub grub. Reasonably priced. Be sure to ask "what's new on tap?" And don't order your usual. The owner, Greg, knows his brews.
Think through parking especially if there is something at the nearby MTS Centre. Otherwise space is easily available off hours or in a paid lot across the street.

Actually I'm really impressed. The yellow Dog is a little gem. Great service and I was able to bring my 7 year old and enjoy 1 pint with my friends. They served her a chocolate chip cookie and milk!
