Underwhelming experience. Poor service, poor wine selection and OK food. Disappointing for a spot with such potential that they missed the mark by so much.

Wide wine selection with unique options such as orange wine. Our server Sudi was helpful, attentive and had a lovely energy to her. You can tell the food is made with fresh ingredients. Restaurant or lounge option with lovely ambiance. Highly recommend!

Had a great meal at Victor. One of the better steaks in the city with fantastic service. Will definitely go again.

Great food and drinks, friendly/professional staff. A tad on the expensive side of things, but I have yet to have one bad experience here.

This restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel.

For a Tuesday night, it was packed by 6pm. The service is slow as the wait staff/kitchen were inundated with 80% of the patrons ordering at the same time. We were given some nice bread and Olive Oil in Salt and Balsamic Vinegar as we were waiting.

We originally were coming here for the Beer and Burger Special which they no longer do..

As we were perusing the menu, the Happy Hour Menu caught our eye..

Buck a Shuck Oysters - so we ordered 3 dozen

We also ordered some dinner off the menu:

Beef Short Rib Poutine - the Short Rib was flavorful and intense and the Fries was cruchy with well seasoned gravy and cheese curds

Pork Chop - the chop is nicely seared and not over cooked, the brussels sprout is nicely crisp on a bed of celiac puree and chutney.

Come in at 5pm to take advantage of the Happy Hour tapas and drinks.

I guess when the say the first time is always the best experience, they are definitely right.

I visited Victor Restaurant three weeks ago, and was treated like gold by Stephanie (I think that is her name- an older caucausian lady).
The food was awesome, the ambiance was great and although, Stephanie forgot to charge me for the wine (which I did take notice and made sure I paid before I left) she did a fantastic job. I was so intrigued by how great the food and service was that I decided to skip out on the original restaurant I was going to have my birthday dinner at, and have it at Victor Restaurant.
I ranted and raved how awesome the service was to everyone attending but, boy was I wrong.

Fast forward to this past Saturday, my guests were NOT impressed.
However, I wasn’t aware until I received an unprofessional email titled “ WALK OUT” from Ellen P (the social coordinator)
Apparently, one of my guests had walked out on their bill and I was left to pay for them. Well, according to the email from Ellen that was the situation.

I panicked as I knew, none of my friends would ever be so disrespectful. I sent out a text to all, when one mentioned she had left her Visa on the table to take pictures outside as the SERVER WAS TAKING SO LONG. She did plan on coming back in, however, the Server started packing up and she forgot to pick her card up and pay. 1) she left her card on the table (nowhere in the unpleasant email from email did it state there was a found card) but, she did mention to me that the server – didn’t know who didn’t pay their bill and that’s all she can help with.

Now, any regular server would’ve kept track of who was at the table and who ate what. ( I have friend’s in the business who have mentioned this to me)

I also received a complaint that the server accidentally brought out fries instead of Mac n Cheese for one guest.

The service was QUITE SLOW – yes, I’m aware there was a party of 15 behind us but, that is no excuse.
9/20 of my guests did NOT enjoy their food. (whether it was cold, or not cooked properly)

Also, I had emailed Ellen asking to speak with the Manager and was told by her, she was the manager (let’s just say I assumed that was incorrect as per her title) and contacted the restaurant when I was told, she actually wasn’t the Manager.

I then requested a callback from the Owner — which I’m still waiting on . Ellen responded to my email – you can email him. If a customer asks for a callback – rest assure, they want a callback not an email.

I also had a friend who had a bill over $200 and she even told me herself, the server was taking so long to take payment, she could’ve walked out but, of course we are not those kind of people. (but you couldn’t tell by the email I received from Ellen).

Another guest, had to ask 5 times to have her bill given to her.

I’m rather perturbed at the events that took place and the accusation of someone purposely walking out on their bill.

Least to say, the female who had let her Visa on the table- had to continuously call the restaurant before she got an answer about her credit card and whether, she paid or not.

    Unprofessional and definitely disrespectful.

Looks like I will not be visiting Victor Restaurant again – do so at your own discretion.
