The hotel is very modern and nice. Parking is first come first serve which is bothersome.
At 8am in the morning we were awoken to the sounds of drilling next door even though renovations are all done.
Turns out a guest was locked out and the door somehow wouldn't open, so they had to drill the lock out.
Complained and the front desk was courtesy about it.response / report this review -

Beautiful renovated hotel!!! The atmosphere is awesome!!! Colourful hotel rooms that are decorated so nicely!! Would highly recommend staying here over the casino anyday!!!! Super nice staff too!!

The Travelodge is now a Holiday Inn Express. This hitel has recently been renovated and looks amazing. Great rooms with modern decor and very comfortable beds. I will always chose this hotel when coming to Windsor.

Undergoing renovations. Parking is brutal. Once the renovations are done it will be very nice. The rooms are already done. Modern and clean but small. Great location on the waterfront.

Under construction. Everything is dusty. We had a renovated room though It was good. The window is VERY small. And the material used is very cheap. I am sure I could have broken the bathroom door my just opening it Everything feels like paper.

The people working front desk were amazing! One of them even tied my fiance's tie for him!! The room was very nice, and clean. The breakfast was awful but everything else was fine!

My husband and I just enjoyed a very nice stay at this hotel. Our last visit was before some of the renovations had taken place so we were very impressed on this visit when we were in a brand new updated room with a great view of the river and Detroit. They are doing a great job updating and the staff is exceptionally kind and helpful.

Hotel was under construction but staff were very accommodating. Room was a little outdated but bed was comfortable and everything was clean. 5 min walk to the casinoGreat stay. Would book again as a budget hotel in downtown Windsor.

What a disappointment! Checked in at 5 and our room wasn't ready. We were told parking on the street was free,we ended up with a parking ticket. The whole place is in DESPERATE need of a make over. With being so close to the Casino we thought this would be great alternative to the high price of the casino.we thought wrong! I would have rather paid extra and had a comfortable evening. We will never go back and do NOT recommend this hotel

Travelodge in downtown Windsor along the Detroit River is simply average at best.
It's visually unappealing (the building is like a big grey block), run down (take note of the drill holes in the lobby wall), and not quite clean on the whole (might I present the spaghetti sauce or something of the like on the curtains in the room I stayed in?).
With that said, it's utilitarian, has beautiful views of the Detroit skyline and the river, and is conveniently located in downtown Windsor. And, for what it's worth, the staff was polite.
Clientele seemed to be mostly people going out to bars and going to the casino down the street.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel as a "nice" place to stay, but it's not the end of the world if you have to.response / report this review
