Wanted more than double for guitar strings compared to Long & Mcquade (8.95 vs 21.26 with taxes). Also they didn't even have the exact strings I needed and tried selling me ones that "are close enough". Pfft. Just want to make a sale, ridiculous. Stay far far away.

Could have sworn I walk into a morgue. Bunch of young?? guys sitting around doing a bunch of nothing. Went up to the second floor and the guy that rang me through I had to pry off his stool to ring through my purchase. Thought I would support locally due to the instrument that I wanted was the exact same price on amazon. So my adivce if you want to touch and play go there then go home and order from amazon. At least that way you don't have to deal with such lethargic staff. Who ever owns this place should seriously start looking at the reviews of this place and take some action.

Very disappointed at the new store. You can see that Tom Lee Music decided to target the amateurs. The old store had some real quality gear for professional musician now, it's mostly garbage. Where is all the good gear? The instrument selection is very poor and the service is awful. The vibe of the old place was way better

Absolutely terrible service for getting a rental. They never call back, have nonsensical rules, and don't actually order what you ask them to order. If you are renting an instrument go to Long & McQuade do NOT waste your time at Tommy Lee Music in downtown Vancouver.

I just read BOOK-Settanan Plangsiri and I think that guy might be the same guy that embarrassed me in the beginning of the year. I was buying a electric piano and I almost gave up doing so. When I left the shop I felt I shouldn't have bought Today I am enjoying the piano but it is really bad that somehow when I think of the experience buying that piano, I will always remember the guy that was rude to me. The shop is cool. As for the other people that works in the store, they seem cool.

I am coming to Canada as a student and decided to visit quite a, I think, famous musical instrument store in the Downtown Vancouver.

I first enter the shop to look for guitar and the the staff is quite friendly.

Then, I saw the second room with stage piano in it so I decided to go and have a look since I also play piano and would like to buy a small one which would fit in my room.

One of a lovely thin, with hair guy wearing glass came to me and he helped me a lot about the different types of piano.

But then, when I told this staff that I am going to study in Vancouver Island and whether if the shop do send the instrument through the mail directly to home or not.

Suddenly a bald guy with glass storm into the conversation and angrily SHOUTED!!!!!!!!! at me that the shop do not send the instrument directly to the house and the best way is that I need to check whether Victoria has any shop MY SELF!!!!!. Not only that but he also said that he doesn't have time to talk with me and are trying to make me EMBARRESSED to the other customers!

That seriously shocked me. I was already on a peak of buying both guitars and piano with this shop and after hearing this bald guy, I said good buy to the good staff and walk away very disappoited.

Literally, you should fire that baldy guy who works in the stage piano section. I will never walk into your shop ever again. Thanks

So so bad. All the guitar shop staff stood around like they were too cool to talk to a customer. Stick with Long &McQuade and you won't be disappointed

Went there to buy some gear to start building my performance/home recording, vst powered, keyboard + controllers rig. There is a guy named Nick there, who was incredibly patient and is super knowledgeable.
So happy with the service !!

I really like it here! I can't remember what location this was, but I bought a guitar here about 3.5-4 years ago and she's my BFF!

I bought a pack of strings, went home and restrung my guitar with the A string breaking with minimal tension before I even finished restringing.

Returned and politely asked if there was any warranty for faulty strings. Extremely rude response, zero empathy or care. I was surprised but just bought a new pack of strings in a different brand because I understand maybe people have a bad day and I just wanted new strings.

At home, I couldn't believe my luck when the package had 2 D strings included and no G string. It's a 45 minute bus ride from my house to the store and I don't have a guitar case, plus it's been pouring rain. So a couple days later I'm near the store so I stop by to explain and hopefully receive a replacement string.

Inside at the counter is the same gentleman who was so bluntly rude the last time. I go up to him and again politely explain my horrible luck and ask if they would be willing to fix selling me a pack with 2 D strings. With his hands in his pockets and a I don't care attitude I was told "it's not our fault what's inside the packages". I was offended by how he said it and the way he spoke to me now for the second time. I just said thank you.

It's not worth the hassle of bringing my guitar in for a $1 string and spending $6 on bus fees or wasting 2 hours of my day. I can not believe a company would have such low standards of customer service. Never a smile, never a hello, no sorry this happened and certainly no offer of resolution. I certainly won't spend any more money at Tom Lee. I can't be the only person that has been offended by their poor taste in human relations.

This complaint is certainly directed at one employee in particular but there were other staff listening both times and did not care either. Other times visiting other employees have not been rude but certainly not friendly. Definitely never hello, or how can we help you. Felt like a bunch of guys who would rather be playing music than "dealing" with people who want to spend money at Tom Lee.

Always had a good experience here. Piano lessons for my son, purchasing/renting instruments, repairs/parts, sheet music, all good! Staff are also friendly and knowledgeable.

I was very disappointed after buying an instrument there. They had given me the display instrument and when I got home I realized the strings were worn down. I went in and explained how I just purchased this instrument a week ago and was told to just buy new strings. If the wear and tear was my own doing I'd be happy to buy new strings but I had just purchased this instrument and thought they would at least compensate me with new strings. I'm not the type of customer who thinks customers are always right and I hardly complain. Sure new strings are inexpensive but it's the principle. I've had far better interactions elsewhere where folks actually seem to have a passion for music. I'm not going to write off all Tom Lee's but definitely won't return to this one. I don't think it was too much to ask that an instrument I had just purchased have strings that aren't ready to break.
