we love the woman who works there (and has worked there her whole life) is the main attraction. She is sweet, intelligent and welcoming (it is her home away from home after all!) Also the best location for hamburgers!
Extremely poor service. Waited over an hour to get hamburgers! When the food finally arrived, it was cold and poorly put together. Next to no sauce on the burgers, heinous fries and coleslaw spilled over the side of the plate. The server did a wonderful job of apologizing with an insincere “my bad”. I paid over 20 bucks for the food equivalent of a slap in the face. Thanks whitespot!
Love White Spot Restaurants. Tasty food, friendly staff, good service and reasonable price. The menu also has good options for kids. :)
I've been here a few times. The food is ok. Maybe even good. But I truly believe that it's more expensive than its worth. Average meal is 15-20 dollars with a few exceptions dipping closer to 10. You can get the same quality in other restaurants in van for the less, and in far more scenic locations.
Good family restaurant with old fashion car hop service and takeout. Great place for kids. Kids meals come in a Pirate Pak boat with a gold chocolate coin. Love their milk shakes.
My recent visit was awful. Albeit that we arrived late in the evening, we stood at the front waiting to be seated for almost 3 min before an employee noticed. He wasn't even the one to come seat us, instead, he beckoned another employee to come greet us. The employees were busy socializing in the back. Once we were seated, noticed many empty tables that have not been cleaned after. I noticed this task too employees more than 15 min to complete. The restaurant was not busy. Food came out to order, and quality was what I expected. I've been here during their busy lunch rush before, which was a much better experience.
Consistently good quality. It used to be good value but with the higher prices it lost a star in my opinion. Mat's hearty breakfast used to have 3 bacon strips and 3 sausages, but recently went down to just 4 pieces. Best menu item in my opinion is the chicken pot pie.
Would not go back. Service seems to always be slow but today was the worst I've experienced. Waited over 30 minutes for our food. My coffee took 20 minutes Then when the food came, server kept trying to give us the bill. We were still eating. Not all of our food was even served yet. When we were ready for our bill it took 20 minutes to get it. I asked the hostess to talk to the manager and she proceeded to argue about their service with me. The manager was only partially sympathetic to us. A group with 4 adults and 4 young children can only spend so long g at lunch. It took us over 2 hours. Normally it takes one hour. This white spot was "on our way" but next time I'll drive down the road a little farther to Marine drive and Byrne road. Service and food is always good there.
Our friends from Texas came into town, they have never been here before nor have they ever had Whitespot so we thought it would be great to take them here after they arrived. I phoned in to make sure we could dine out in our car and the man I spoke with was beyond pleasant and promising. After I told him about our friends he told us that he would make sure we had the BEST experience. We arrived, the sign said that the drive in wasn't open so we waited, and waited and waited. I called again to make sure they in fact we're open. A different guy answered and said that they were open he just forgot to change the sign and said that he was new. After saying that I just had a feeling that our experience wasn't going to be the BEST and it wasn'twe ordered 4 burgers, one plain with just a bun and meat (I know our friend is weird) with sauce on the side. We told the kid 3 times, because he just couldn't understand, no cheese, just a burger patty and a bun with the sauce on the side. We waited over 45 minutes and when he finally came the meal that was the simplest was the one that he had messed up on. We told him and waited on him to bring out the right order especially since her meal came with the wrong fries. He simply wasn't hearing anything we were saying, we had to repeat a bunch of times for him to finally grasp what shebwanted, it was a headache and especially since our friends just came off a long flight with their baby and were starving. When he came back and gave us our bill, we tipped him quite low, we wouldn't have normally tipped at all with such crappy service but we kind of felt sorry for him that it was his 3rd day so he said. The kicker was when he called our friends baby a boy when she was in a pink dress, needless to say we won't be coming back to this location again.
Good to see that this location still exists, it's probably been a good 4 years since I've last visited this place a little shocking considering it's the location that is closest to my home. It's good to see that they still serve the same great food as any other location. Despite the slower wait time (came here at 8:30/9pm) they were still quite attentive to my needs. Definitely a good place to visit if your hankering food late night, warning though they do close at 11pm.
Similar to most White Spot locations, this restaurant has a nice relaxed dining room, plenty of tables, and great burgers. Nothing too fancy on the menu, though you don't really go to a White Spot for an adventurous meal.
Food was served fairly quickly, and service was attentive (even if they weren't overly personable). A good spot for a family dinner out.
The food is decent. The staff is friendly and helpful if not a little inexperienced. The food is also decent and much better after the update. Decent selection of beer and wine as well. Their burgers are the reason I come here and the bottomless fries and triple o's sauce are great.
