TSMV is disappointed with the current evaluation of our application by AEP, and the decision that was put forward. The Province has repeatedly shared that TSMV submitted a quality application with significant peer-reviewed science on wildlife corridor movement.
The Province wants us to make changes to our proposed corridor. We are committed to working with the Province on reasonable revisions to our application.
The Province has committed that the TSMV re-application process will take less than 6 months given the amount of work and consultation that has already taken place.

Sometimes the solutions that we know are right and are best for wildlife, conflict with the love of seeing wildlife in our neighbourhoods, especially for bears. Comprehensive wildlife fencing, attractant management, education, and providing alternative areas for recreation is part of the solution.
“We need a complete overhaul of how bears are dealt with in this community and, just as importantly, in how this community deals with its own residents and visitors when bears are present,” said Marriott. Jay Honeyman, human-wildlife conflict specialist with Alberta Environment and Parks, said bears aren’t welcome within the developed footprint of the town, only in wildlife corridors and habitat patches."

Before development TSMV removes all animal attractants to try and prevent human wildlife conflict. However, overtime wildlife attractants may creep back into the landscape. Help the whole community and the wildlife by making sure wildlife attractants like Buffalo Berries are removed from your property.
