Are you looking to help your teens get active in the community? Start with CIWA! We have a Youth Civic Engagement Fieldtrip open for girls who are newcomers to Canada Ages 13-24. Permanent Resident card and parent consent required for registration.
• Come to the Glenbow Museum to see and amazing art exhibits and make new friends • Get active in your community and learn about the Blackfoot people of Alberta • Understand Canadian culture and history

Our campers greatly enjoyed the Girls at Bat Program. In addition to improving their baseball and overall athletic abilities, campers made friends and improved their self-esteem. Our Girls at Bat celebration was divided into three days. The first part of the celebration was a cultural potluck which took place at Sikome Lake – campers were able to enjoy some fun in the sun and sample foods from all over the world. Canadian baseball player Rebecca “Becky” Hartley joined the campers for part II of the celebration – she talked to the campers about her experiences as a member of the Canadian women’s national baseball team and taught them some baseball games. Part III of our celebration involved a field trip to Canada’s largest living history museum - Heritage Park. Campers celebrated what they learned at camp and interacted with western Canada’s iconic past. Thanks to all who participated and Jays Care Foundation
