This is basically a Calgary staple! The perfect place for a small bite or even better, stop by for a Shaft (make it a Shift if you're lactose intollerant) on your way to other venues. That being said, theres not much reason to leave, they have a great wine selection and if you ask nicely, they'll let you know about a few bottles that aren't on the menu. Their bartender Lee is fantastic and even when I said "I don't know what I feel likesomething slightly fruity with gin' - he whipped up the perfect concoction (once again - not on the menu!).

We have dined here twice and both times were excellent. We discovered this restaurant during Calgary EATS! and sampled the 5 course menu with wine pairings - delicious. We fell in love with the cozy atmosphere and the food was fantastic, so we reached out about hosting our small post-wedding dinner here. The event planner was so nice and accommodating! We didn't have a large enough group to warrant renting out the private event room, so we settled on a reservation for our group of 11 on the patio. From start to finish, the experience of organizing our meal here was perfect. The restaurant made a custom fixed price menu where our guests could choose between fish, chicken or beef and accommodated the many sensitivities and allergies of our guests. Our waiter also made excellent wine pairing recommendations. An unforgettable meal, and a perfect way to cap off our wedding! I highly recommend you reach out to them for any special events as they were easily the kindest group we contacted and worked with.

Wow! Is the easiest way to explain our experience at this fabulous restaurant! Our Server, Justin, exceeding our expectations in terms of service, knowledge and his amazing attitude!
The food was EXCEPTIONAL! The halibut was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The chocolate fondue we enjoyed for dessert which came with banana bread and strawberries was mouthwatering!
The talented bartender went out of his way to make us his Amaretto and Bourbon sour. It was truly a work of art. Recipe posted in images.

Cheese fondue had nice flavour, although an including pairing with vegetables would be nice for the price. Oysters very small. Chocolate fondue delicious, though could have included more chocolate. Overall, a very good meal.

Always a great experience with the servers genuinely interested in the menu and wine, as well as the Chef catering to what is in season and dietary restrictions (I'm Celiac). The patio is awesome in the summer, and is a great place to go on a date!

This is definitely in my top 10 restaurants in Calgary. They have a very interesting menu, beautiful location and the greatest staff on 17th ave. One thing that I was very impressed with is the fact that the waiter knew very well about wine pairings and his suggestions were spot on. In this place you are definitely paying for quality, so be ready to pay from $75 to a $100 per person. But if you ask me it is worth paying $100 per person.

Went for the wild boar rack. Definitely appropriate for 2 people in terms of size, the flavour and presentation is excellent. The wait staff is fantastic, they read our needs well and came up with superb recommendations from the wine and sides lists. Great place to bring a date or your parents, very relaxed atmosphere. Will be returning soon and often.
