10:30 25/11/2017 - windy weather - the restaurant was close to full and possibly understaffed. I was there for a friend's birthday dinner. We had our order taken 3 times and the food came sporadically. Some people had their food come before others (some ordered appetizers, makes sense to come before, but others ordered entreés). The drinks got warm and we were there until midnight. We were waiting for a long time and for some reason our waiter changed so we had to order our food again.
Again possibly understaffed but there were lots of busboys (and busgirls?) Not happy since our group had plans afterwards which we couldn't attend.
Food was good though and the servers were friendly.
Amazing food and service. Our server (Stephen M) was really informative on all items we asked about, made great recommendations, and was incredibly friendly. The food was perfect and was delicious. It was a great experience. Every Keg I go to is good (Vancouver and Halifax) but this one was a step above.
Good location in downtown Toronto, and our baseball steaks were served medium rare - very nicely grilled, just a bit crispy on the outside, and pink on the inside. But its the little things that earned tgem only 3-stars.
. No Pepper mill offered when the salad or the meal arrived, Perhaps it's this location, but I remember waiters/waitresses with pepper mills at other Kegs.
. my date ordered 9-oz of wine, yet only received 6-oz, the waiter later found the other 3-oz 'off the back of a truck"
. my rice was very very bland. Seemed like it was cooked without seasoning, no amount of salt or pepper helped - so most of it was left behind.
. the saving grace was the main portion - the baseball steaks, but like I said, the little things add up sometimes.
First meal in Toronto. Maybe because we were tired and super hungry, but the steak was cooked to perfection with a delicious glaze and the ribs were so tender, the meat just fell off the bone. Even this iceberg wedge was yummy! So much good food over here and it's very accessible for wheelchair users too Should consider relocating, but wouldn't be fond of the bitter winters. Going to be such a fatty by the time I get back!
A very nice restaurant. The decor it's nice. It's quiet and reserved. Perfect for personal small gatherings and private diners with your girl or spouse. The food was amazing. I ordered their prime rib and mashed potatoes and it was great. It was lil pricey but in comparison to other high end steak houses it was on the lower spectrum. The dessert was good and our service was great. I definitely recommend to come by if your looking for a good steak or well cooked piece of meat.
We were a group of 12 there on Saturday night Normally the Keg is extremely consistent however this time a lot of the steaks were overcooked and the the main dishes took longer than usual. I was impressed however with the way management handled the issues, which will happen from time to time. The were more than apologetic and accommodating. Regardless of the mistakes that did occur, I will be back. Because who doesn't make mistakes from time to time?
Visiting from the US, The Keg was recommended so we gave it a whirl.
Our server Amanda, was very friendly, she explained full menu.
There were 4 of us, 2 with prime rib, 1 filet mignon, and 1 sirloin. All cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was just right out on patio.
I would definitely recommend and come back if I ever come back.
A group of 5 of us wanted to treat our Los Angeles friend to what we expected to be a great experience with excellent food. The hostess was very friendly and a nice welcome. It took a while for a waitress to attend to our table. When the food arrived, most of the table complained that the steak was fatty and not worth the price (4 of us had the $40 Rib Steak). Half of my asparagus was undercooked and couldn't be chewed properly. Those who ordered asparagus complained that it wasn't seasoned and should at least be buttered for the price we paid. The wine was great and a saving grace. After mentioning the thoughts on the food, the manager came and she was very nice, offered us complimentary dessert, and said they would bring us dessert menus. The menus never arrived. Nor did our server. Tired of waiting, we had to go fetch the server to get the bill and were never given a reason as to why the compensation that was offered never arrived.
Food was great and so was the service! One of the few kegs I find where the steak / prime rib is consistently good and not dried out. Our waitress was on top of drinks and dessert thoroughly enjoyed our dinner
Gooooood food as you can see.
The service was good too.
Warning!!!!
Don't ever park in the parking spot near the restaurant!!! I took 40 minutes to get out !
I have no idea why is the system so stupid!
Nice and elegant. We sat near the fireplace and a pretty descent steak. Food was prepared in no time and service was good.
Celebrated a friend's birthday here. The food was very good for the prices they offered. Had fillet mignon and it was so tender - just succinctly cooked. Perfect with the Merlot we had.
Lovely keg with wonderful staff. Food is amazing as per usual. I celebrated my anniversary here and we were blessed with the best, most charismatic service in an intimate setting. Would recommend to anyone! Enjoy
