I was at Tsswassen Ferry Terminal at 8:30 am on March 2nd and had the worst service. I asked for a scone and they hey gave it to me cold. I asked for the staff to hear it up but they said they couldn’t due to health regulations. Didn’t even offer to replace it. Staff said “sorry you’re disappointed”. Like a non-apology apology. Go to Starbucks if you are at the ferry terminal.
We sent the Large Christmas Cookie Box to my father in Chilliwack. Heard he loved it! This is the 3rd time ordering from Sweet Thea. Consistently great products and service, especially helpful since we live out of country.
I called Sweet Thea today inquiring about birthday cakes, (which I needed one within 2 hours, for a birthday party.) The Bakery had 6 inch cakes ready for sale. However, I needed an 8 inch one, in order to accommodate all of my guests; furthermore, Sweet Thea was able to have one prepared for me and even finished it an hour ahead of the time that they had initially given for pick up. The cake was an absolute hit at the party. Thank you Sweet Thea for putting a smile on my daughters face today.
Amazing service both on the phone and in person. I was panicking the morning of my daughters first birthday after my homemade cake was a massive fail, I called asking about any in stock celebration cakes and thankfully they saved my butt. I had called another local bakery before this and they were insanely rude about the short notice. I have since ordered a sweet Thea cake every year. And the cakes are pretty and taste delicious. Highly recommend!
So it's a cute little shop!
Their showcase was beautiful. We came for the macarons because my children haven't had any before, they've only had macaroons. There was buns, both savory and sweet ones, macarons, tarts, cakes. They're open Tuesdays-Saturdays. We will definitely be back! Thank you for having us!
Just a front counter with a case of treats, but amazing cookies and scones and other fancier danishes! They seem to do alot of custom orders and cakes. Wish their location was less out of the way, then I'd stop in more often. Just drop coffee and no where to sit and enjoy.
The pie we bought was good but it was sketchy that they would not provide a receipt for our cash purchase.
I learned about Sweet Thea's cakes through a friend who hired her for her own wedding. Initial communication with Thea was good, but anytime I asked her about meeting in person and setting up a tasting she would ignore the question, advise us to check her site for the flavours we could choose, and continue asking about whether I would want delivery, renting her stand etc I told thea we wouldn't require her stand and would discuss delivery once we decided if we would hire her. She then went silent for almost 2 weeks when I emailed her again and asked if we could meet in person. She did get back to me and set up a date, only to cancel on us the day before we were supposed to meet. I understand a busy schedule and gave her the benefit of the doubt, contacting her a few weeks later expressing that we were still interested in meeting. That is when Thea promptly emailed me back to say that she is unavailable to meet with us, that the last wedding she did broke her cake stand and therefore it would be easier for my fiancé and I to take our business elsewhere. Thea is a poor communicator and an even worse business woman if she is so quick to deny a customer in such an unprofessional manner. If you're looking to hire someone for your wedding, save yourself the headache and hire someone else.
Pies made from scratch and all butter crust. Need I say more? 😀
I'm not typically a dessert person. However I couldn't resist the tarts at the River District Farmers Market. I've now had the chocolate pecan, lime coconut and pear. I'm in heaven. Enjoyed a cheese scone with my morning coffee and loved it. The crispy top was perfect. I'm hooked.
