Must check out how good is their customer service before using this company before or after.
They totally have two faces.. just money taking business without caring customers 's complaint. No grace nor compensation whatsoever.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - booked a vacation to Hideaway Royalton in Negril.had the worst vacation EVER - major problems everyday - three different rooms - two with flooding from the ceilings! that was just a small part of the issues we experience while down there Brand new resort - complained while down there to no avail.filed numerous complaints, nagged and complained some more to be offered a three day return to the resort ..after we had returned and had written more complaints and posted about the terrible resort and lack of management support - why would we wanna go back to that specific Royalton after having so many issues and three days? over the disastrous week we had there for some big $$$$$will cost us more to fly there to use those days.. was told by Sunwing it was the hotels decision and they couldn't change itTHEY OWN THE HOTEL CHAIN - THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT but just like the absolute lack of response by ANY management while we were there the same goes for their customer support
I work here so I have to give it 5 stars
I booked through red tag for the price drop guarantee. I read all the fine print details there is a $50 processing fee for filing a claim and you must register to get the price drop guarantee. Everything was done proper I followed all the steps. So I monitored my vacation price for 2 months and finally one day it dropped $80 so I said great time to make a claim but things didn’t go to plan…. Reason why is sunwing’s price drop guarantee is a SCAM. YES A SCAM.
After filing my price drop claim it came back rejected (note you only get one claim so when it gets denied that is it) so I emailed the claims department back and never got a response. Even 1 month later still no response. Then called customer service and got transferred to no lie 10 different managers all unable to advise why it got rejected. No one was willing to help.
Finally my red tag agent got me an answer it was because the claim I submitted was for a different room type. I booked to park suite room and the lower price was for the super saver park suite room. Same room different name. So instead of honoring their guarantee they just change the name on the room so they don’t have to pay. Also note if you go on the hotels website there is no such things as a super save park suite room. Just the park suite room
SCAM SCAM SCAM DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. Book a vacation for the price you are comfortable with but don’t waste your time with their promotions. IT IS A LIE
Still waiting for management to contact us after a sexual assault that happened at one of their resorts. 2 weeks now. Maybe they will see this post and give me a call
I'm a little ambivalent. On the one hand, they failed to send us confirmations about our trip. On the other hand, the rep that rearranged everything for us when it turns out they got names wrong (even though there was plenty of room to fill in my name, it was cut off in their records) was very helpful and kind.
Once we were there, logistics were fairly well taken care of, but while setting up the trip, their system wasn't that great.
Sunwing AIRLINES however, I would never recommend. Did I mention they failed to make sure that there would be a plane to fly us there?
The resorts are great but the sunwing flights are terrible, on a 7h flight from Cuba (SNU) to Vancouver (YVR), they served us water twice, the first time at 1.5h into the flight, and then once more at 5h. Food? Forget about it, there is only enough actual meals for the first 10 people, and they're not free either! The rest got a cottonmouth turkey pita or soggy steak sandwiche for $10. I have never before been on a 7h flight where meals were not provided for everyone. No compensation offered for inadequate meals either. Ended up dehydrated and puking after this flight, the worst experience I have ever had on a plane. The head flight attendant Naomi wasn't great at diplomacy either. Won't be flying sunwing again.
I specifically booked through Red Tag (Sunwing Vacation) over Expedia or iTravel2000 to take advantage of their Price Drop Guarantee. Sounds appealing enough, no? 'If the price of the vacation you purchased drops, we'll credit you the difference'
Well I'll the the one to expose that there are several steps involved that you are not made aware of to submit a claim, and they'll reject your submission even if you attach proof that the price was quoted at $XX on a particular day, and then they refuse to allow you to re-do the claims submission! Also, they hardly make it clear that there's a $50/pp charge to even submit a price drop claim, so you're only getting the delta after the admin fee. They're scam artists, don't waste your time.
My Sunwing vacation consisted of drunk pilots, fraudulent advertising, continuous delays, rude flight attendants and lost luggage.
We had a terrible time on Sunwing flights WG 595 from Calgary to Cancun Dec 24 2016 and WG 596 return on Dec 31.
The flight was advertised on Expedia as a non stop flight, but it stopped in Regina for over an hour. We paid a premium for a non stop flight since we were traveling with a baby. We would not have selected this flight if Sunwing were honest.
Heading out, Sunwing made us sit for an hour and a half at the gate. It was very uncomfortable, especially since we had to keep our baby strapped in his baby seat the whole time.
The "Cabin Safety Manager" Santi (from Toronto) was extremely rude to me and my wife. It is difficult enough traveling with a baby without having her purposefully give us a hard time.
At first she didn't believe that we'd purchased a seat for our child until we allowed her to inspect the boarding pass. We told her that we required a seat belt extender for the baby seat but she never brought us one.
She then came around and told us that the baby seat was installed incorrectly. It was installed correctly and she got angry when we contradicted her. Santi accused my wife of lying about the child's weight and then turned around and walked away while my wife was mid sentence.
Later in the flight Santi hit my wife in the head while pulling the drink cart.
I can only assume that the reason Santi doesn't wear a name tag is because she gets lots of complaints. She has no business in a job that requires human interaction.
After arriving in Cancun we waited at the luggage carousel for hours for our stroller which never arrived. There was no one from Sunwing to report this to. We had to ask around the other airlines and finally they were able to call a Sunwing employee. We filled out the paperwork but they never contacted us afterwards.
We ended up having to catch a cab from the airport (instead of the Sunwing bus) due to the delays.
We were told at the airport to deal with Sunwing's local partner Nexus Tours about the stroller. They alternated between saying they didn't know anything, that they couldn't help anyway and that there was no response from Sunwing's Calgary office. At one point they offered $50 CAD a day in compensation but quickly revoked that offer the next day.
We tried calling Sunwing directly about the stroller but just got a voicemail. Update: Found out at 02:30 am on return to Calgary that our stroller had completely disappeared from their tracking.
The return flight was supposed to leave at 15:45 and land at 19:50 according to our itinerary. It was actually scheduled to leave at 17:25 but the airline never notified us. Again, we wouldn't have booked this flight if we knew it landed so late.
When we checked in at the airport for the return flight, we found it had been delayed again to 19:05. It was then further delayed without notice to 20:12 and finally landed in Calgary at 01:40 am.
At no point during the two flights was any compensation offered for delays.
We found out before boarding the return flight that our aircraft captain had been allowed by Sunwing to enter the cockpit and start working only to pass out drunk and be arrested. He was three times over the legal limit. When we confronted the flight crew, they lied by telling us and the other passengers that it was weather delays.
Sunwing put myself and my family's lives in danger with their complete recklessness. If the captain had only been drunk, and not pass out drunk, he would have killed us all.
